I noticed when removing/reinserting the fuel pump/sender assembly that it is very easy to misalign it and get the sender caught up on top of the baffling. If the baffling is bent (it is not particularly sturdy) that might be it. The whole sender may be one hole misaligned (I can't remember if this is possible, the fixing spacing should be 'poka yoke' - impossible to misalign.) It is worth removing the unit and checking it carefully.
As with all fuel related stuff, take proper precautions. Ideally, you should disconnect the battery for a good couple of minutes beforehand, don't take your phone into the car, or any other electrical equipment. And save the cigarettes for later. :D
Very quick dirty way.
Undo the splash guards around the front of the front wheels enough to get to the mount that connects the front bumper to the front wings.
Remove the sockets around teh headlights(2 on top, 1 on side)
Remove the sockets at the top of the front bumper mounts) - 1 each side near the center of the bumper)
Jack car up on the front, under the front main beams - There is one nut either side (Looking up) remove these.
Look down between the front bumper and the front engine bay metal brace, (start drivers side - Easyer)
Almost directly behind the headlight is a 14Mill nut, Remove this, and the one on the passanger side.
(all bolts are 14Mill - Best tool as it's a bitch to get a socket set down there, is a 14mill socket spanner with a directional head)
This will free the main front support beam from teh car, then just pull :)
I'll ship up a guide next time i'm around the area.

@cab35d5200=HammyGlos:
Where did you take WES to? i lived in Ciren for 1year and took my car old 420 GSI to Ebleys to get the brakes done for MOT and then get MOT and they failed it on the brakes :shock:
Took it to Ebleys in Gloucester as I was already working in Gloucester and it passed :lol:
Took him to N & N Autos fella nige is very good but on this occasion id disagree…
Stupid thing im currently waiting for a set of braided lines to arrive which i was gonna put on after the mot but looks like i'll put them on for the re-inspection...he only wants to see a new set of lines on and i get the pass and a mot...

Will need interior pics and engine code to be sure but for £1.495 would u really pay that? dang I would sell u mine for that lol
@5c52433bfe=djmarcopolo:

@5c52433bfe=Rainmaker:

Well, someone better get making some carbon bits for the MX3 because I'm wanting some lightweightness.

I must say that his glittering TV career must be at its heights if he can cruise around in a car that costs under a grand !!!!
The one thing I like about jeremy Kyle is that he is not married to kerry katona
look under there first and clean the rust up, it can still carry on under the waxoil, wirebrush it off if possible and then paint on some jenolite rust remover to clean the metal right up.

Have to try and get a southampton meet up before end of good ( ish ) weather. Think my tax runs out end of october then it gets put away until april 2011.
Great pictures & setting.
Definately and get some cracking photos done, the sea with straight horizons always makes cars look curvier. The fort in the background was built by henry viii and is open to the public but there are plenty of great places for photos around here.
Will arrange something soon, maybe town quay in southampton where titanic left from its now a car park with water all around and you can bring the ladies and drop them in the shopping center about half a mile away :lol:
This is town quay (top) or next one down is mayflower park where the pilgrim fathers left for america but is again perfect for photoshoots

**I'm pretty sure you can, yes. The bonnet for the MX-5 was essentially unchanged from Mk1 to Mk2 - Mk1s wore the Eternal Flame and Mk2s the Wings.
MX5parts.co.uk probably sell them (they sell everything else for MX-5s!), but I'd stick with the Eternal Flame - it symbolises Hiroshima, where all MX-3s were built.**
My car was built on a bomb site :shock:
Fek, that's cool I'm staying with ol flamey.
:lol:
Would you not just save up a few quid and do a BP engine swap? From what I read on the mx-3.com forums when I was researching them you'd have a very easy time doing it, since your car has the SOHC engine & would be OBD1.
Looks like there is nobody around…
Ah well i'm looking at an FTO on ebay that wants a new engine, should be good to make a few quid if it goes cheap enough.
The K8ZE is simply the Jap Spec version of the UK K8 engine.
Its something like 144 bhp instead of 135 or whatever.
So no great improvement really.
I don't know exactly what is defferent though?

Got a tech college near you??
Go to the vehicle repair department for trainee mechanics, tell them that you need 4 shocks fitting and the welding doing they will charge a nominal fee and the labour is pretty much free, good for the students and good for you.
i'll give it a try , thanks
If you get the seats get the rails aswell, should be just a bolt on job, at worst you might have to do a small bit of welding.
I've been looking a rx8 seats but im thinking they might be too wide :(
