@ef3fa1f875=daniel:
the only reason i ask is because i get a whirring noise when i start the engine which i assume is the air con pump. i know it doesnt work and i dont really want it to work, the mpg is bad enough as it is lol. i have searched and i cant actually find a fuse for it. i pulled out no 11 under the bonnet and still no change.
get a non AC belt if the noise is still there then its something else
Well I got down to the head bolts but some serious issues came up so I sent the heads off with the shell as I couldnt get them off
I now know that genuine K8ZE heads are K801 stamped and an absolute arse to remove
well, I got a few small plans for mine.
Firstly, CV joint of course, and im struggling with this as even with my ne wimpact wrench, I cant get the hub nut off. Once done however, I want to smarten up my passenger front indicator, give it a good valet and start looking at new tyres and I want to re paint the wheels myself. After that, all I need to fix is the air con, for which I have no pipes!
MK1 supra TT? I think also you mean aerotop? Anyways the only supra MK1 that had a turbo was a single turbo. The TT's didn't start until the MK3 with the 1 JZ-GTE and 1G-GTE engines and neither by the looks of it did the aerotop roof make an entrance until 1986 which is mk3 territory. I'm not much of a supra geek honest, I've only had 4 of which 3 were aerotops :) If you ever buy a 1jz-gte car with an r154 manual box you will probably never want another engine type again. It is the most revvy turbo charged car you will ever drive. The power available with very limited spending is also very impressive. 400 bhp from very little upgrading is achievable
pmsl exhaust sniffer. yeah the fumes do seem pretty strong after i decat mine but i have like a gazillion holes in my exhaust so they seem to come straight in the window :lol:
Thanks Daryl will get on the case of it, just about to order some hi temp grease for it as mine the flexi ends have dropped off too
UPDATE
Just phoned brake engineering, they only sell calipers now and do not sell kits or parts anymore, contacted MX5parts.com in portsmouth I might as well have phoned him and said I slept with his sister when I told him I had an MX-3
Called CES they could not trace the parts at all and tried selling me recon calipers for £178 each :shock: My local motor factors quoted £68 each :wink:
I looked for recon calipers on the net and realised a company called BIGG RED are the biggest company for recon calipers, gave him a call and he had it all on the shelf except 1 rear caliper slider kit
Got the whole lot for all the calipers without the sliders for 1 rear but all the bushes for £55 posted - same price as posting from america and they are the more expensive raybesto parts :D :D
they should be delivered friday
http://www.biggred.co.uk/
totally recommended - very helpful and willing to sell you anything in the way of brake parts :wink:
