Low milage, FSH, T&T up to £1300
Mid Milage 75 - 85,000 some history , in good condition, T&T £500 - £850
High milage 115,000+ in good nick, T&T up to £600
These prices seem quite fair and accurate,
I have done well out of my mazdas the first MX3 the guy was desperate and I beat him down to £550 from £950 for a j plate with 155k, FMDSH and every factory extra because he was desperate and I like to haggle low LOL
The second and current one I did a 8 hour round trip to cornwall to get a 97 R plate with 71k and FSH for £800 this is about a year ago it depends where you go there are some bargains around or they go for book price.
I did see last summer a local forecourt with a 1998 'S' plate MX3 in silver for £2495
I probably won't need Marvin's gearknob, especially since I'll have two other cars that can donate theirs if required. I need to check it's not some wibbly special SE item (though if it is, Red will get it and then Red's gearknob will be going spare), but there'll be a stock spare here whatever.

(unless you already converted them, given the audience?)
my MPG (miles per gallon) is US not converted… what exactly is the conversion? do you use kilometers?
**Gulf gives the 3 decimal place answers (though technically a US gallon is exactly 3.785411784 litres - a conversion I've been doing so much that I can tap it out on the numeric keypad without thinking  ), but a rough rule of thumb is "add 20% to US".
So your KL-ZEs run 30/38 (road car) and 26/32 (track car) converted to miles per Imperial gallon. Which is about the same in the case of the road car as I get from my stock K8.
What octane fuel do you run (and this wll also require a conversion - rough rule of thumb is "take US octane and add 4" - because we use different measuring scales for that too)? I'd hazard a guess you use premium/93 - the equivalent of our super/97-99?**
@ba3278be2a=Mooneggs:
oops a little bit of failure…
**Nah, no failure. Just you happen to use different measuring standards in the US, particularly in motoring, to everywhere else in the world, but then so do we. Most of the world uses kilometres and litres/100km, we use miles and miles/gallon (Imp), you use miles and miles/gallon (US). Most of the world uses metric horsepower (PS/cv/Ch), kW and measures torque in Nm/Kgm, we both use imperial horsepower (hp) and imperial torque (lbft or ftlb). And octane ratings can be anything, anywhere - we use exclusively the RON system, which is retarded, and the US is pretty much alone in using the PON/AKI/Octane number (which, for anyone who cares, is the RON [research octane number - a bench test] + MON [motor octane number - a bench test using real world conditions] all divided by two. Since MON is usually 8 lower than RON, give or take, the average is usually 4 lower and that gives the difference between your octane and ours).
But it's all good, because I speak American :D Spent some time over there (7 states so far), got married over there and intend to emigrate there by the end of the decade.**
Yeah would be good to meet as many people on here as possible, fingers crossed for some ferry offers, thought it was a pain in the arse living on the isle of wight :(

I'm starting to see more and more MX-3 driving about these days and would love to point them in the direction of this forum. Always get a look from the drivers too or I'll flash my lights at them, sort of a biker nod type thing! I still nod to bikers if I'm in the car or on the bike which can get some strange looks!
For some reason though most are women drivers mostly V6's too  but I aint complaining about that! Are our cars becomming chick cars? :(
To be fair i think they have always been a chick car but who cares it drives ace and loks good. Also i work at a hospital with lots of carparks and if i ever see an mx3 i will write the website on some paper and put it under there wiper :D saying that ive only ever seen two and i dont think either of them joined :(

lol good plan, pulled that one many a time, however for xmas my mrs bought me the deluxe halfrauds toolset, has everything i need with lifetime guarantee £70 acnt argue with that.
Now i love taking bits off mostly for cleaning, gets you used to using the tools and the snapping noise when you undo that first turn of a 17 year old screw (still makes me cringe lol)
**Even more cringeworthy that they're 12 year old screws in my case…
Actually, I do have a question... Pulleys - replace or not? I'm tempted to, though I've been advised it's not necessary unless they show wear - and it represents just about an £80 difference. The hydraulic pretensioner is being replaced (I remember the last cambelt change she had - they opted not to replace it and guess what failed the next day?).**
Personally i would say yes, once you get that deep into working on the engine might as well do as much as possible in one go. I put in another post that mechanic might have one going, you should PM him and find out.

cant believe for such a new member you have made 182 posts too! thats impressive! you must be a hardcore mx3 fan!
Either that or a lonely person with only his PC + MX3 as a friend
