Thanks Marco.
Does the O2-sensors have some connection to the distributor? I cleaned all connectors i could reach in the enigine bay. The two that goes to the dist. hade something that looked like jelly on them? Really weird. After that i reset the ecu and the two O2-codes disappeared… maybe it was old ones but it has eaten a lot of gas recently. Maybe my imagination, but i think it runs a little better now. As for the EGR, seems like it could be pretty many faults with that code. Although i would like to know where i find the sensor? Its my 626 V6 that have these sympthoms, not the mx luckily, so the location maybe is a little bit different... BUT, must fix since this motor soon will be swapped over.. :)
Took the one at the front out and its a 4 wire. I have got the sensors from the probe store but have to crimp to the old plug. The problem is that they are different colours. 2 blacks a blue and a white on the original and 2 whites a gray and a black on the new. I have what the wires are for on the new sensor as it came in the box but don’t know what the wires on the old are, can any one help?
actually, me and a few mates are considering setting up a budget ICE-install business! so you can be our first customer!!
there are a few very big scrappies in Dublin, and i think a few of them post parts. might be in luck
I have changed the 2 heated oxyen sensor and cleared the fault codes took the car for a drive and it was a little better but still not right so I checked the errors again and nothing. Car still running bad so I gave it a few days and tested again getting a fault code on one of the sensors (RH). Could this be a faulty ECU or something else please help.
No mate, it's the KLDE that's knackered - I want to know what I can nick from the K8 that might fit!!
The oil light only flickered on round corners, then off again - so if I have the same symptoms, it sounds like it's salvageable..? Sounds like after fixing the leak, it's bearings & shells, crank regrind, and see how it sounds?
@bd48786979=jay1987:
basically i wana build the klde but wana use the 10mm probe leads on the k8 is that possible ?
thanks
Yes, the are just different lengths as they are routed different, so there will be some slack.
i checked all pipes and did the spray can test to see if engine picks up nothing. also she was a little rusty on rear end. i know would needed a new sus set up with track end rods etc. along with the tappets in engine and possible pistons. lol (ops lil too much playing).
however the new coupe i got is just as if not better. love playing with it now. so much fun (already need new tyres!!!! )
i snapped my power bar doing this!!!! as well as ending up smashing up the old joint whilst getting it off!!! and as said getting the new one over the split ring is quite a BI*CH. but a need to make sure the shaft does not pop out. all i can say good luck
ps i budget for 2 hours max. but ended up 4 doing mine. 20 cigs and 4 flasks of coffee!
Hi, i asked a member of Mx-3.com who is from Germany (v6powered). He ordered from www.jdm-parts.nl. Myself asked them about price for curved neck and shipping to Sweden and it was 1050 euro. Gueuss it should be pretty much the same to Portugal.
Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions and feed back.
The issue was with the distributor wiring.
I was just about ready to start the GM Ignition module mod, but decided to take one last look at the wires.
The 6 pin plug on the distributor was correctly wired but the 3 pin plug wiring did not match that of the 3pin plug in the mod documentation, there was not even 1 wire in its correct position.
The pin outs are as follows
The 1994/5 distributor 3 pin connector:
Pin A = Ignition / Coil+
Pin B = Data Link Connection / Coil-
Pin C = Tachometer output
The loom in the 1992 body was wired as follows
Pin A = Data Link Connector / Coil-
Pin B = Tachometer output
Pin C = Ignition / Coil+
Just took apart looms 3 pin plug, reinserted the wires using the 1995 garage manual and my metering out of the distributor as reference and she hit on the first twist of the key.
Baby does she ever purrrrr
You sure learn a lot about an ignition system when it does not what to work…

For your other bushes etc i've heard some of the generic polybush ones will fit the MX-3, but you need to physically take them to a place that sells them to compare.
it was starter motor, got my car back on Saturday
but my joy is gone already, bloody brakes stopped working in the morning, lucky I was 20km/h and managed to stop, i was pushing the braking pedal and it was going up instead of down
they are working now but am heading to fastfit for brakes inspection
my mx3 is crumbling :(
ps my car mechanic also fixed the hand brake, could it have any negative impact on my braking pedal?
