Cheers guys. Need to check with Elephant with regards to insurance now then.
Not really doing it for performance, just more because of the obvious design fault in the original (which Mazda want £60 for a replacement), which I doubt has been corrected.
Performance gains are welcome, but purely a secondary consideration for this particular change.
i have a klde all in bits with a gearbox, i took it apart to rebuild it and have lost intrest, will sell to 100 ono
one of the heads is cracked easily sourced for about 20 quid
@22985ab8fb=Marco:
Maybe Pedro meant outer diameter, which IIRC is 68mm.
KLDE/ZE is about 60-62mm ID
K8 is about 55mm ID
OK, no problem.
I've found that larger throttle bodies are good for top end, but kill low down torque.
Try above suggestions, also check that when the engine gets hot that the radiator fan comes on to cool it down, it could be that simple.
If none of the above then it could be a sign that the head gasket is on its way.
Does the warer boil over?
Are you getting pressure in your radiator?
Bubbles in your expansion tank?
Take oil filler cap off, is there any white residue inside the cap?
Have you got any oil in your expansion tank?
Its also not a great idea to run without a thermostat, they keep everything running at optimum temperature.
Some CV boots are not stretchy, when you buy it ask for a stretchy one.
You need a stretcher tool to put it over the CV joint.
DO NOT BUY A TWO PIECE BOOT!! waste of time and money!
None of the downpipes "fit". They all need minor mods and sometimes some bending.. But these do nearly fit.. ;)
Just look for Probe GT headers. They are the closest fit. Problem with all of them is that they get welded when not mounted, so the heat makes them vary sometimes.. Theres a lot of info about them and the fitment issues on mx-3.com.
There was something on .com about this. They were using the corvette ZR1 filter though.
Here's the thread.

hi mate, have a look at this thread about a ZE swap, talks about that sensor you was talking about

Were about do you live, there might be a fellow mx3 owner who lives near by who would be kind enough to show you.
Disconnect your battery.
Jack the front of the car up.
You will need to slacken off the alternator belt, then flick it of the alternator pulley.
Crack the bolts holding the alternator in place, there will be a couple of wire bolted on the back of the alternator undo them.
Remove bolts and drop down.
A picture for you so you can see were it is located.

Ahem most of the ebay chips just richen the fuel mixture, same as if u disconnect the AFM on cars.
Ebay chips are normally shite.
Electronic superchargers wooo haha
Had a look around at oils rob and all these are available in 5/30 but some do have specific requirements for more info like i say have a look at the site i previously posted they can be more specific for the mx3 k8 and ze engines…
