im ok going to go for the most accurate ancer
you dont need one if your standerd depending on what mods you do or plan to do you might want one
the standerd one dosent turn pressure down much from the pump so you might gane a litle power if you have a biger air filter but it wont realy be all that notisable might even luse power if its not set up right but will use more fule so its up to you realy
i am going to have to have one as im upgrading the pump and injecters for my turbo set up
Well the police would have to catch me first!
Well I only bought the car a few weeks ago but its definatly from the engine, and as its only in 4th and 5th gear I cant just pop the bonnet whilst driving down the motorway to have a gander! sounds like its coming from the gearbox but I want to avoid taking it apart until I know what it is…
i tried to pull my codes a few weeks ago also guess what i had knock sensor fault. thought wtf!!! took to mate at mazda pulled codes for free and guess what nothing at all.
Not sure what paint you use or were to get it done, i would ask a local body shop they love cash jobs like that. I have seen them on e-bay they look nice.
:P
Sorry mechanic, forgot to reply to that post… I installed them during my engine build, I'm convinced they work, just seems like they would! I'll measure my IM temp after idleing for 5 mins then you measure yours ;)
Yea Stephen, I did all the work myself, the timings easy enough when the engines out (well mine is running lol) But if you're doing it with the engine in, it gets a bit trickier due to our rediculousy tight engine bay.
All 3 of my K series engines just use RTV. Also my bottom end gasket kit also had no gasket, just RTV gasket maker. So I think that's the way to go  Easy job if you have a pit IMO. Just make sure you clean the meeting faces properly.
i know this is an old topic but i only worked out my mileage today!
over 30mpg and thats giving it the welly a good bit. could be pushing 34,35 if i took it easy.
absolutely completely standard. for now…...
Fitted them yesterday lunch time, the kit was very good. Does just what it says inlet was a hell of alot cooler… Not sure bout the power increase hard to say.. without a dyno.
Going to get the grinder out to free some more hot air from under my bonnet that should be fun...
im using stock injectors on my setup with walrbro 225lph fuel pump and turbo smart afpr/wastegate/bov and 5psi spring. got told by seven and hgellos that would be a good starting base. and as james said BUY A WIDEBAND A/F GAUGE THEY ARE PRICELESS AND WILL SAVE U THOUSANDS OF POUNDS both se7en and hegellos said there motor would be dead without them.
