I always use a pair of pointed nose plyers to wind my calipers back in.
Or a disc spanner fron an angle grinder. The 2 pins on that seem to fit in most cars I work on :D
Thanks Mechanic!
It worked in the end, though i had to destroy the pins to get them out. the sense of achievement is massive now
Now my only problem is my rusted on bleed screws…...
Wow, good response. Thanks for the advice. The technique worked beautifully on my rear N/S wheel, a there was a nice rubber cover for the bleed screw so it was still nice and shiny. Unfortunately the other 3 are rusted in. Ive WD40'd them, but they dont seem to want to budge. Plus they seem to be somewhere between a 7mm and an 8mm (mayeb due to rusting. Can anyone give me any advice on how to get them to move? After changing break pads, discs and pins all around myself it seems like admitting defeat to take the car to a mechanic now just to bleed the breaks.
I soaked them with the calipers still on the car, didn't take much really, but depends how bad yours are. Mine weren't too bad TBH. All were missing the rubber dust covers though too and the car had been stood for about 6 months prior to me buying it. Rear calipers were sized when i got the car but I managed to work them loose and they're still fine now.
With the pitch you'll need the right one other wise they won't screw in. They'll just lock in place and you'll end up stipping the thread on either the caliper or nipple. Strange why that site lists M7 rear and M8 front. I thought the were all the same, never mind next time I'll measure all 4 just to be certain!
Just to be safe get the M7 1.0 for the rears and see if they fit in the front, if they do you're onto a winner and can order 2 more.
Strange, didn't think 25mm would affect the camber…much anyway.
Bolts maybe your only option then fella. Just been under mine again, as far as I can tell it aint adjustable, but I could be wrong.
i starting to think it is the brakes, i can here it when im going along and the only thing that will quieten it is using the brakes enough so the rear ones will work harder. all will become clear on friday, shocks getting fitted so ill have a looksee. the garage i take it the MOT test station were i work and he is a tight ass lol

I do very nice quality bearings for front for £29, not as cheap as ebay obviously, but they have full guarantee, which is not really something you get from eBay.
Rear bearings are integral with the hub and are not the same as the front.
i've had a scout about your website before, seems like you do pretty much everything, when i'm needing bits in the future i'll give you a shout
:D
