Middle 2 lights are ABS fault + Engine management
Temperature
Normally temps take time to warm up with the water warming up, for it to be getting hot beyond the point of pain there is a problem present, it could be that the water system is blocked somewhere and all you have is cooking hot air in the heater matrix and the water is slowly running around the engine while the engine is full of air in the high parts and the temperature is sensor is still immersed in water.
If its a V6 remove the high point filler cap on the left side of the engine when Its cold (DO NOT DO IT WHEN ITS STILL HOT)
if its full to the top ok if not fill to the brim, then start you engine and leave running in tick over until up to temperature (dont rev it up)
When the thermostat opens it will let the water run freely around the engine and will clear any air locks, gently increase revs when it when its hot and the water pump will force all air out of the system and keep topping up where necessary to keep it full, when its done make sure the filler cap is put back on when its full and make sure the water header tank is full to the maximum mark (then when the engine cools and the water shrinks it will pull the water from the header tank.
If this still continues to get that hot that quickly you may have a blockage somewhere you need to find fast !!!
SLOW REVS / acceleration
1st check the pipe from the airfilter into the throttle, if this leaks slightly at all from cracking (mazda common fault) bad fit etc then it gets a false reading to the airflow sensor and does its own head in.
otherwise start with plugs, then the fuel filter and air filter, then oil + filter if still no change then do the leads and dizzy.
Once you have done all this and no change then check the cat because you now know the engine is all good, if the cat is blocked or broken it will fail the MOT anyway, find an MOT station and ask if he can do a quick test between MOTs for emmisions and that will tell you straight away, if thats fine, try taking the handbrake off LOL
Thanks bud, They have bugged the bulb behind the engine managment light, will pull codes tomorrrow see and will ask for the emissions tomorrow as well.
Will check out the other things on the weekend, Nice post btw and the hand break is off lol :)
Thanks very much for this link. I have some work to do on mine to stop the engine from dying when it's warm, and to stop it bucking like Billy Bronco when accelerating through low-to-mid revs in lower gears.

Massive BS flag on over modification. Intake, headers, exhaust… and a catch can. Hardly. Pre megasquirt I had pretty much the same setup, and I didn't have the crap you're having atm.
Thank you! Thought as much!
**We eventually got it by putting a screwdriver into an access hole in the clutch and jamming it against the side of the hole the starter motor came from. With my able mechanic on the screwdriver and me on a two foot breaker bar gently increasing the torque on it, it cracked.
We just put the new belt on (and Christ is that a palaver) - the belt that came off has covered about 44k in 6 years and looks pretty much like the new one - and we're having a tea break. Next up is to put the covers and pulleys all back on, and we've decided to leave the mount until last simply for knuckle clearance.
For reference, the timing marks didn't all line up until the hydraulic tensioner was on and the ram engaged. Two full crankshaft rotations later, they're all still there. Two more and they're still there. It's a bit of a dark art if you're doing it yourself.
I'll put up a thread tomorrow some time with the pictures and tips.**
I went to the company who said they can make anything out of pipes and had a few people say that you give them a length of pipe and they will sort it for you, so I paid them a visit today.
Instead of the helpful person I dealt with over the phone that offered to help if I took it in instead I got a young woman receptionist that thinks she runs the company because there were no guard jobs at auschwitz available anymore and although she seemed to speak perfect english she seemed only capable to listen to me in a language that she did not understand and tried to get me an appointment with a head of sales to have a mould made up for around £5000 and then proceed to order 100,000,000 to make them all feel good about it.
She refused to let me talk to the person I spoke to before as he just works on the shop floor so I got absolutely nowhere with them so they can poke it up their pipes now.
Hate receptionists that are well above their station
Will try and get him on the phone but the outlook for this place is getting bleak.

I'm considering - or wondering - if I can repair the other with some form of puncture repair/rubber glue…
Tried that with marine sikaflex, the strongest stuff on the market and because the main body is so brittle it just got worse
But I will hopefully have news soon as I have found a shop that sells non genuine ones for half the price of mazda so when I get all the details I will make a post about it with links
Cheers guys!
Will admit, defo needs a service, but the cost of running is stopping me buying the bits! Ironic! Haha!
I use Shell all the time. I have a loyalty card, so I'm clearly doing something right there! I only fill up £20 at a time to fool myself into thinking I don't have much fuel left! Haha!
I should give it a good blast every now and then (and have done, when some cocky boy-racer fancies a go! ;) )
I have noticed the needle barely moves cruising the motorway - but as you say, I'm doing a lot of town driving!
Guess I'll have to get that service done then see how it goes!
Thanks again!

What type of performace ++'s are there to removing/disabling the aircon?
Air con I believe is clutched, so the drag of the unclutched pulley will barely affect the engines output to the wheels. So gain of removing VS turning it off are very minimal.
Removing all the AC crap will reduce weight, improving power to weight and makes for a tidier bay. It also leaves room to fit a supercharger ;)
Nice, Might have to look into it, Didn't think you could just stick a supercharger on the V6?
you need duck tape as well

oh and maybe one or to leads might not be seated properly
now you mention that, the leads click onto the plugs fine but the rear 3 seem kinda long about 1cm actually, the rubber gromits dont sit flush with rear rocker cover. but there the right leads for the car apparently…..
