Flywheel
-
fidanza dont do one.
ill check out unorthodox though.
No BP's over here on the emerald isle im afraid, wanna mess with this engine for the moment anyway!
-
I remember seeing a red mx3 BPT in autotrader.ie with a lump in the bonnet for the turbo! Would love to know what happened to that car. I couldn't afford it at the time :x
Good luck with the hunt. I would check what other cars use that engine - as often parts work with mx3 but arent listed as that.
-
take your flywheel to an engineer, theres one aroundf here that specialises in enginework
-
just get a miata lightened flywheel, you can do an alluminum from fidanza or a chromoly one but i can't recall the company that makes it… check on ebay they are on there very often just look for miata flywheels since the 1.6L miata engine is the same as our 1.6L engine just better tuned
-
i was on mx-3.com and someone tried putting on the miata lightened flywheel but it wouldnt line up with the mx3 pressure plate.
He had to put a miata flywheel, a miata pressure plate and the mx3 clutch together to get the set up working!
I was just hoping there was an easier way!
-
ok, just found this
Wondering if anyone knows if this would bolt straight on?
thanks

i'm pretty sure the miata 1.6 clutch won't work… the disc might but i can't recall if the center spline count is different or now.. although the flywheel in that auction is the one you want

-
so i wont need a miata pressure plate if i get the XTD one?
thats the one i wanna get, an extra pound or so would be worth the durability.
thanks for this!
-
no all you do is buy a miata flywheel and put an mx-3 clutch on it and you are good to go
-
cool.
i get paid next week so im thinking thats what i might be spending it on!!
cheers for the help!
