Wheel spacers and stud extensions
-
Hi all,
didnt even know these stud extensions existed till today,
could it be a solution to those wanting to use spacers?!
I know i fancy an extra inch of girth…..
-
Illegal in Australia… they can vibrate apart and you can loose your wheel...
Well, thats what they recon...
-
Mmm interesting!
maybe some loctite wouldnt go amiss?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290298899533&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Thinking about giving these a whirl! I could always machine
up a ring to make them hubcentric :D

The only prolem with those spacers is you need to extend the studs otherwise you wont have much thread to hold the wheel on with.
If you want to put spacers on you need the ones like these, much safer but a bit more pricey. My mate had to do it on his audi a4 for the set of lambo wheels he put on it.
It says VW scirocco but mazdas are pcd 4x100 fitment

-
those ones in the second link come with a screw on type stud extender I think.
Funnnliy enough I emailed essex racing yesterday to see if the did 54.1
center bore / 4 x 100mm , but they dont and Im not even sure if those
spacers you posted up come with the stud already installed into
the spacer, so i emailed backFull on H&R or Eibach hubcentrics are 100 quid a pair!
-
The ones I posted have the stud properly fitted, those you posted seem to have a cheap metal stud extension that the spacer fits over, I can just see a weak point on those extensions
-
aye they do look dodgy dont they!

Mikeyeah you put the spacers on the standard bolts, do them up with you your original nuts or the ones in the pack and then fit the wheels to the studs on the spacers and use the spare nuts to do them up. Its a much stronger system than the stud extenders and those will give much more friction between the inside of the wheel and the spacer.
The studs hold the wheels on but they also use the friction of the flat surfaces that are squeezed together to give more purchase to the wheel, those others do not have much area for the wheel to grip to so you will get more forces on the studs themselves
-
VW's use wheel bolts I think as opposed to studs so I dont think they
are going to work without having to buy new bolts,
plus stud and nuts are sooo much easier for removing/refitting wheels. Those are cheapest Ive found so far :D
-
Set of 4 there for almost same price
-
Oooh nice find!
4x4.25 (vehicle) > dont understand this bit though??
bolts to:
4x100mm (wheels)
4 x 100 to 4 x 100 :D
-
4.25 inches is 100mm :D
Americans do everything in inches I am pretty sure thats their system
-
Yep your right
Better get ordering an maching up a locating ring for the inner bore! :D
-
Its cool mate no worrys 4 x100 to 4 x100 is above
