DJMARCOPOLO'S - The GREEN RIVET

after going for a tearup in the past both me and the missus like the sound it makes even though I wanted more V6 growl but its a bit quieter so its staying for a bit longer until I try the next one thats in the post :D
I tried to get that TB sensor apart and it wasnt having any of it, the screws are nylocked in and they were rounding more than shifting with a large screwdriver in a vice and still nothing but Lori did me a good deal on his
I have a weapon R induction kit from america, it was ok on the K8 but on this you really hear it and looking on their site the mx3 + mx6 use the same filter so i guess they are the same, would an MX6 airflow sensor work better than a k8 sensor as it should take more air for the larger cylinders or does it not matter
-
The probinator ECU sorts all that out and you have to use the JE50 VAF with the Probinator ECU.
-
I'm currently running K8 ECU and KLDE VAF. The car is OBD1 and Curved Neck ZE also. It's the best combo i have tried. Some people in U.S have tried this combo with not so good results though, so I dont really know why it works so good for me.
Maybe my JE50 isn't working 100%. I've tried K8/KL36/Probinator with JE50.
They say that Probinator and JE50 would be the perfect match for a Curved Neck, but i'm not sure of that. A KLDE ECU and VAF should probably be just as good i.m.o.

Well what a busy weekend, I have booked friday afternoon off work next week as its japfest so she is up for a full valet all afternoon.
The EGR has sorted itself out now, I guess it just needed a good run to clean it all out in there as the tick over problem has sorted itself out just when a replacement turns up in the post :x
Anyway, had something in line as a surprise for Japfest so started yesterday by fitting one and turned out because they came from the states these had the wrong beam pattern and were not adjustable as the guy I bought them off suggested, I was going to send them back so I found the beam pattern inside the unit, stripped them in place without seperating the units( proper brain ache from this ) and swapped the beam pattern around to RHD
I have made a HOW TO… with pics to swap the lights to RHD
Now all fully fitted and looking bling, just after a new switch to fit in the dash to make the halo's light up but everything else is working
While the bumper was off I also enameled the power steering cooler in yellow

headlight look great ive been tempted with a set for wes
coming along nicely

Well what a busy bee I have been today, was at work and due to the awful weather nobody went out in their boats so was free to get my car into the shed and get cracking again.
I got my powder coating done last week and I have been sitting staring at it all week so cracked right into it today as I wanted to get the KLZE looking its best,
I fitted new rocker cover, front rad mount and strut brace that I got powder coated, wont be everyones taste in colour but its original and stays with Mazda's green theme for the Equipe but I had them finished with metallic lacquer so they sparkle
Fitted a new uprated top engine mount today too and sprayed that silver along with a stack of ancillaries on the engine to give it a shine.
Put all new stainless bolts in the rocker cover when the new one went on
Started on the pipes as well today so have nice green rad pipes and powersteering pipe, have a little secret where those came from and will share soon once all the other pipes have been done
Have a stack of stainless bolts on order and will start getting nuts too so everything looks nice and new and doesnt rust :D
The sticker I bought direct from a shop in japan :D :D

Gotta say thats looking rather good 8)
-
wel done bud looking well nice..makes me  i aint got one now…
-
How easy is it to take the cam cover off a k8, I'm thinking of respraying mine? Is there any special type of paint required too?
-
Dead happy with the way its shaping up under the bonnet now, got a lot more pipes tp change, have a lot more smaller items to get done next week too then the engine bay wont be far finished.
Tim, the rocker is very easy to remove, you can see all bolts on the top that you need to remove, a couple of things with doing it yourself with paint is make sure the paint and primer can withstand 100° temperatures and you may need to get a new gasket first as there maybe a good chance the old one is a bit hard and will not seal properly again leaving you with an oil leak
-
Looks pretty cool Keith, I like the colour :D
-
Good work! Intrigued by the hoses
-
have posted an item about my hoses in the general section

looks good with the blue, got loads more piping to fit when my oil cooler arrives :D
As a tribute to the late and great "BERT" I bought his bonnet badge before he went to the crusher and fitted that today
-
Had a bit of spare time today so made a basic bracket and mounted my oil catch tank, then replaced all the pipes with lovely green - just like this site lol
Anyway more engine bay bling added with more to come, most of the vacuum pipes are ready to be greened too :wink:Also got these goodies this weekend, a powerflow twin rear exit stainless exhaust (thats 3 stainless systems I own now) and a back bumper to match, will be doing some chopping very soon and then its off to paint along with the front and the mazdaspeed skirts :D
-
Looks wicked Keith :D nice attention to detail with the green zip ties
-

The idle problem is still ongoing, i clean the egr out its great for that day and then its back to it, I cannot get it apart so next time I will rinse with brake cleaner and then pump a bit of wd40 in it after and see what happensThe new oil catch tank has also done wonders to performance, I think the old short narrow guage pipe wasnt sealing well because now its back to being the animal I first fitted, it kind of felt flat recently but now its a monster again, also gave it some beans earlier and this huge whistle noise appeared, I have blown the gasket on the inspection panel on the top of inlet manifold so some gasket sealer is being applied tomorrow and it should be all good again :D :D
