Think the driveshaft has gone!?
-
i hear a sort of knocking at slowspeeds and it turns into a quicker like loud ticking noise at motorway speed i can here it over the noise of the radio, i also have a ABS light on.
I was thinking that maybe the drive shaft was worn as it has some play in it up and down and the gearbox side, and that movement was stopping the abs sensor reading the 'teeth' on the CV.
Its getting really anoying and prbably unsafe, so could someone steer me in the right dirrection or confirm my suspisions.
-
drive shaft would snap i would think (had that happen on the 100nx i had) following that with the cv you would normall hear the outer one click if gone on a full lock., not sure with regards to the inner cv on the shaft
following that may be a possible wheel brace gone
-
so which part do i need, the cv near at the gb side, or should i get the whole lot?
-
the inner CV has gone, i bought a new 'racing' jack today and checked it out there is play up and down in it but the outer one. that means a new ABS sensor. GRRRR

Thats how mine is set up.
-
sorry for confusion. mech are you confirming its on the cv behind the wheels or at the gear box end? as been under mine for last two days and there is a sensor on my outer cv. lol
-
I confirm that on my model is in behind the wheel, the sensor ring is pressed onto the outer cv joint.
…..........
-
yeh because its the inner one thats gone, i was just guessing that the sensor was broke too, as the movment from the inner cv would/should not effect the outer cv which as you guys know is on the outer one.
cant find an inner CV anywhere so im going to have to shell out on the full shaft! found it for £135 next day. others have been £120 but with me giving my driveshaft and them refurbing it, but that'll take 3 days.
