Sam's Proper MX-3 - LT Turbo project *Parting out*
-
I have too admit, that looks fucking lush.
-
Thanks Chaps :D
Plan is…
Fit new wheels
Arches rolled by Archenemy.
Drop ride height another 10-20mm next.
AEM F/IC piggyback ECU install.
Aluminium power steering and washer pump reservoir.
Buy and fit SPEC clutch.
Fit up Turbo, injectors and intercooler.

@baa069fd04=youdirtyfox:
Fit up Turbo, injectors and intercooler.
Sounds simple when you put it like that.
-
does doesnt it, will be plenty of blood, sweat and tears though
-
spoiler alert!
Really hard to know if the arches need rolling or if they will tuck under
with some camber without getting a 195/50 tyre on.
-
what offset are they? the front looks very unlikely! mine are et30, 205/50/16 front and 205/55/16 rear. All are cambered, esp rear and all rub a bit, but not alot. I've started rolling the rear arches. You look to have gone a step further with offset!
-
Yeah Im doubting now looking at it again. The rims are 15 x 8 ET15, going
for a bit of stretch with the 195/50 tyres.Have you hired an arch roller or you going ghetto?
-
Mr Baseball Bat came out to play lol… it's quite neat if you take your time.
hmmm optimistic on that one... rolled and flared?! Maybe mad camber and the stretch will do it but I'm not sure.
-
lol thought he might, heatgun too?
Im really tempted to DIY as Archenemy is £130 to roll all four.
Think Im going to have to get a scrap tyre of one of the new rims to see where it's at..
-
haha nope cold and crackly. I'm derusting my arches as they're bubbly. If my arches were pristine I probably would have paid or hired a roller tool. I had little to lose, I knew I'd be rust treating anyway so I just went for it
Yes I thoroughly recommend setting up a test tyre to try. I first got 2x part worn 205/55/16 then found out there was noway they were sitting under the front happily.
-
Ah I see fair one!
Think thats a plan man, will go grab a scrap tyre friday :)
-
Just bought a set of these lug nuts off ebay (where else!)
£24 for a set of 16 inclding key. Went for steel over aluminium as these are
cheaper once you take in to account customs charges for the US ones in lime green
tuner style alu lugs, and im really not keen on using alu lugs on steel threads if I wanted to give it some beans on a track one day!
-
i snapped one of my allis it corroded to the steal thread :-( cost me about 70 to get it removed
-
shit! bad times  I guess your not even supposed to use a copper/moly grease to keeping them from doing that either.
-
The green ones I bought are steel.
-
Went to Hillsea Tyres to get a part worn 195/50/15 put on for £25, struck up a deal to get all my four tyres changed over to the new wheels and balanced for £30!
New wheel nuts turned up this morning too :D
Heres the pics…
Top of the tyre tread is very flush with the arch, so only a arch roll should be needed…
-
yes looking gooooood!
-
Another 30mm off the ride height and it'll be even better :D
-
hellaflush ftw :D
-
noice :D :D
