1.6 DOHC wont start hot
-
I have problem with my car.
it starts cold and go fine, taking speed everything is perfect.
But when engine becomes hot, it not starting. But if "IF" it will start hot it will go fine. no problems. No petrol usage rised, nothing unusual, just not starting hot.I already changed:
Spark plugs - NGK Iridium
SPark Lead - K1 extreme power 10mm
Distributor rotor
Tempereture sensor for cooling system
New battery.Any ideas why?
-
maybe somebody knows where i can make proper computer diagnostic birmingham +10 miles around? or coalville?
-
Seen this before.
Few things :
- Fuel pump - when its hot and won't start get someone to bang on the fuel tank with a mallet or something.
Try that and let me know
-
Sounds like a thermostat issue to me.
-
I had this exact problem on a vauxhall astra years ago, turned out to be the sensor in the distributer had turned heat sensitive. it would only ever start again when it was cold, it wouldnt even show up on diagnostics but when the sensor got hot, it just shut it all down
-
if i will need to buy new pump which is better to buy? not stock one.
maybe this one?
-
No point in buying an uprated fuel pump at all,
unless your running big power!
-
it is in future plans to have bigger power.
-
standard pump is fine for KLZE, or 1.6 Turbo
so unless your going above 200+ I wouldnt bother personally

Couple of things i can think of here..
1; Air fuel mix is rich :
Insufficiant fuel injection control (correction for fuel control) cts sensor fail
Fuel injector fuel leakage2; Vapor lock :
Fuel pressure is not held in fuel line when engine has stopped..
Pressure reg control system malfunction..

Pressure reg control system malfunction..If this problems will be with my car i think it wont start cold also. But when it is cold starting well and going well.

today checked resistance of my distributor coil.
it should be 0,46-0,78 ohm myne showing 3,9 ohm.

Check your Mazda technical maintence manual and you will find my reply is text book for failing to start when hot bud…i only gave you a brief description as a pointer...
Having said that though the coil lead is a good indication there..
-
i checked ignition coil resistance. it is 3.9 ohm when should be 0.48-0.78.
ir means i need new ignition coil.
-
next…
 changed distributor to new.
car still won't star hot.
-
did you try what admin said with the fuel pump?
-
it is not fuel pump 100%.
i think it will be starter motor.
-
Oh right so it doesn't even crank! Well that's a good suspect then!
