When you jump TEN and GND you are putting the car in diagnostics mode.
I believe if you adjust the idle without doing this the ECU will try and compensate for less or more air using the IAC (idle air control valve). So if you want to do it right you should jump TEN+GND and set the idle a bit lower than you want it (IIRC 650 to get 750).
whens the last time you changed yours o2 sensors they are persihable parts and alot of people have found vast inprovements on smoothness and accelleration when replacing them. they might not show a code but if they have been on the car for 15 years chances are it wouldnt hurt to replace them with new ones.

This week I have noticed that when engine gets to temperature, I have extreme tappet tap from rear bank and the idle is lumpy… would this be the same issue?
Cheers
Hammy
Not too sure mate, mine doesn't tap its just a bitch every now and then.
Bane92> Genius, problem solved! The stop screw wasnt doing anything, grounded Ten and Gnd, let it warm up a little, wound down the AAC, then wound down the stop screw to where I wanted the revs, took it out of diagnostic mode, the revs dropped a little, so adjusted the AAC 2/3 of a turn and its now perfect, the AAC was wound out 7turns!!. Took it for a drive, absolutely sweet as can be! Had to adjust the TPS after moving the stop screw. Checked at .15mm then .40mm and then .50mm at .40 there was still continuity but at .50 there wasnt, so the TPS is set great aswell.
Your my hero! Thanks mate, oh, and welcome to the forum, certainly got off on the right foot with me! :D
im kind of suprised till i read a post from the guy i brought it off a while back?? if its the same side it might be because he put an ebay special bearing in 2 years ago :(
The car is my klze project which im trying to get running befor i pull out the lump so i know it all works.
Ive checked the fuses and are ok and the dizzy i put on was of my 3 that im scrapping and that worked for sure. I looked at the receipts and its had the same problem twice befor and both times its had the coil/dizzy changed so im thinking the problem could be deeper.
Is the process for pulling the codes the same on obd1 and obd2?
@1110fdd63a=jamesshack:
yep thats sweet, it does say its compatible though to the mx3,
I have one, its not, its about 20mm too long and the end is straight and it doesnt fit 1.6 because the center pipe and cat are all one part
Hi obvously it will not really fit in your engine as you can see the size the other one is much bigger than the other one. where did you buy it? You can go back to your OEM dealer and try to swap it into the right one. Before buying a part you should know what size and part are you buying remember to tell them the model of your car they will help you find a part that you are looking just an advice! glad to help

Alright, i searched whole internet but still have a few questions, i can get my hands on a Longneck KLZE so i'm going to try the swap but!,..
need to replace accu (no worries)
need to fill motormounts (no worries)
need to adjust/change my brake fluid reservoir?
Rest is just plug and play i thought?
Ant comments or adds to this?
yes, need to replace ecu for either KL36 or KL31 ecu.
can keep mounts as they are, or fill them, or upgrade them, all depends on thier condition and how you are going to treat motor.
if your LHD then the long neck manifold hits the brake fluid reservoir, either swap in the curved neck manifold, or use spacers to tilt the engine enough to clear reservoir, will be very tight tho.
yes apart from some minor adjustments it is plug and play.
Awesome! "Dude, where's the steering wheel" - "Trust me, you don't need it… :lol:"

@46d9c92a09=SstennizZ:
jeez, that whould mean i'm around 8236 bhp! :p
thats totally possible, if you add a shark fin aerial you gain an extra 132bhp
oh, and I found a school bus that had been modified using the above formula, it really works>>>>
