exhaust manifolds and mounts need swapping, I kept k8 dizzy, leads don't need swapping think they are the same.
Also if its a Straight Neck (MX-6 is) then you'll want a battery relocation kit and move the expantion tank over and remount it.
checked mx-3.com and there is no adapter but apparently if i can grab a kl01 vaf then it will sort out the fuel problem but the vris points will be off. but since its just a A2B daily driver i aint to fussed about vris so if anyone knows or has a kl01 vaf that anyone is selling could u send us a msg pls. cheers

@f30b5dcb6d:
or since urs is before 1995 u could just get a kl31 or kl36 ecu and enjoy the full potential of the klze
Thats not correct, this is how it works:
The KL31 and KL36 ecu have the correct VRIS settings for the Straight Neck out of a MX-6. So if your ZE is a Straight Neck get a KL31 ecu preferably as the KL36 is out of an automatic.
If you have the Curved Neck ZE out of the Millenia then you need to find a K8 ECU that has an EPROM chip number where sthe second half of the number starts with a 2 not a 16. This is the only way to get the correct VRIS points for the curved neck manifold.
The probinator chip is only $45 about £35 including delivery to the uk from his website: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/728690/6
If you don't have the correct EPROM number just find a K8 ECU with the right number from a scrap yard (must be from a pre 1994 car) don't pay more than £35.
I took the ECU and chip to a local electronics company who charged me £10 to install the probinator chip.
So getting a probinator chip will only cost £45 or £80 if an ECU is needed.
P.S. Don't bother running stock K8 ECU, its utter shite compared to having a Probinator chip (curved neck) or KL31 (straight neck)
really i had a kl31 ecu in my green car with millenia curve neck intake and that ran like a champ and the vris all seemed to be in the right place. ?
I reckon if its full off old thick oil then the uplift pipe is full of crap and partially blocked its the only way it can get tappety when its warm, either that or some of the shims are a little warn out and in that case it may not be too much to worry about.
When do you want it?? Need you details so I know where its going to, I can box it up tomorrow to find out how much it will be, drop me a PM with your address please,
thanks for your help, i had to take the sub frame and one radiator fan off to reach it. you were right about the cuts and swearing, but all sorted now.
cheers
@8ccc20d33c=Marco:
Sounds like the friction gear spring! Mazda made a revised friction gear spring and the circular spring keys into the nut itself. The old design relied on tension alone and eventually starts spinning.
Interesting?? Maybe thats whats wrong with mine as, it comes and goes, you can hear it switch off engine, restart and its gone. How easy/where is friction gear spring??
If its a bit harsh sounding then a bit of modding at the center joint and fit 2 of them coming out either side, then the resonance from both will make it nicer, thats why mazda fitted the monza pipes, the resonance on the same frequency kind of quietens them down a bit but 2 loud ones together do alter the resonance significantly
Hahahaha love the title fella nice one…
I have a place local to be that may be a place to enquire about this,, im out and about the next few days so will pop my head in and ask some question this end..
Rainy...
Cheers guys.
It seems worse on mornings when it's been cold, but today being in the sunshine for an hour or so it hit about 1400 and then by the time I'd reached the end of my road it was back down to less than 1K. Once it's fully warmed it's practically at the bottom of the gauge.
Thanks again.

Had a nice drive as soon as it was done yesterday to charge the battery as it was a bit flat.
Its so nice to have her back.

right now its all fixed get yer name on the list for Trax event in sept…
Haven't pulled codes b4, but have seen it posted so will have a read and give it a go over weekend. Although my mate has offered to carry out diagnostics on Tues but will give it a go myself.
Only other thing I have noticed is that it is sometimes (not every time) taking 2 or 3 seconds to start.Doesn't sound much but usually starts immediately.
Do you think it could be the dizzy?
@cbedded42b:
drop the engine onto the floor and slide it out
might have to lift front of car abit higher
Ive done this before, not on an mx-3 but 205, principles the same though i guess!
dropped the front as low as possible so the engine was sitting near on the deck on a pallet (fisrt time i did on gravel drive) undid the top engine mount/gearbox mount and then jacked the car up real high using axle stands on pallets and dragged the engine out underneath the front cross-member, wasnt easy on my own though, if you had a trolley or rollers would make it alot easier shifting the engine out.
