New tyres??
-
so last time I needed new tyres I got a set of new 17" alloys and tryes for about £30 more than the cost of 4 new 15" tyres.
need tyres again, dontknow what to do, spent £80/corner (£320) for tyres or find new set of wheels and tyres, my wheels are a bit scabby now think ive just answered my own question, anyone know of any good deals going on at the mo?

i get my yokohamas normally off ebay for a very good price, and pleased with the tyre too for fast road use, not too bad on the track either. Not brilliant in the wet tho!
on a sub note i know someone who has 17inch alloys and new eagle f1 tyres going for £400. Think alloys are pretty much near new. Not tried them on mazda tho to see what fit is like.

ive got avons vr1s on mine and not a bad price eather. you can get them them from main tyres dealers thay are a realy good grippy tyre and good in wet too but thay dont make vr1s any more but thay do vr3s now which are the latest modle. thay are a realy good and last for ages. not the cheapes tyre but well worth it :D :D

went to a tyre place near work today, he said £50 each fitted, or £30 for part worns, think part worns are a bit dodgy.
will a £50 tyre do anything that an £80 wont?? or is it like bike tyres and people prefer what they are running?

i had cheap ones fitted to my 17s as part of the package. Was not really impressed with cheap tyre. ( cant remember make? ) much prefer what i have now. Put in all does depend on which engine you have and usage for car. Ze tends to smoke tyres on corners when pushed. is fun tho!! :D

Whoa, weird
I was gonna post a thread about peoples tyre preferences. I love the parada spec 2's, when I had 17's on my Civic I used to get them all the time, just waiting until the new year to get some for the 3, love em.

They are good tyres in the dry. I had an EG vti Civic which came with spec 2s, they grip to a ridiculous level in the dry but are almost dangerous in the wet!
If I had money to burn on tyres id go for Pirelli P Zeros….. they are amazing! They grip well in all conditions and seem to last forever

Now you mention it, I did lose control of my civic at just over 30 on a pitiful excuse of a bend when it was wet….......
