LOL, up, down, up, down. This story has had more twists than an epic drama!

  • I've just been reading my old project thread on another forum about my Civic and it has truly inspired me to stop whinging like a bitch and get this car sorted out. It's given me a wake up call and judging by the responses I was getting from the old car, I have it in me to get this thing looking good.

Patience is the key (and a garage would help  ), the strongest point of this car is the fact it can be driven legally (Has an MOT and a windscreen unlike the last project).

    Keep watching folks.

  • We've all seen this picture before, but this time it's staying like this

(well, when I say staying I might mean, some more of it may be going)

  • Interior dye goodness collected over the weekend. I think 5 litres wil be enough 8)

It is also good for dyeing rubber and plastics. :D

  • Hmm, a guy off my local Jap car club is selling these (I think they are 17's) and I know they are pretty similar to my TSW's but he only wants £60 for them (a set of 5) so I've offered him a swap for mine, or I might lump up the cash?

  • I'd take em at that price regardless…

  • same, If I was closer, I'd pay the £60.

  • Still waiting for a reply on the wheels and I have started dyeing the interior, looks a bit messy at the moment so I'm not bothering with pics but once it's done I think it's going to look quite good, I've even used it on the door plastics and its brought them up beautifully.

I gave the bonnet a first coat of the satin paint yesterday and cleaned the car down today and this is why I love satin paint

It looks stunning when it's wet and beads like this. Now I can't wait for the weather to truly open its arms (with sun!) so I can get this project moving in the right direction!

  • :D hopefully picking up new wheels tomorrow. Need refurb and new tyres but all good. 8)

  • should reduce that arch gap nicely!

  • @dc1e0518fd=youdirtyfox:

should reduce that arch gap nicely!

Probably will, but will need much more lowerness with the extra height the wheels will give the car. I think I'll have to think about coil overs.

  • New wheels :D

    and next to the 15's

I would put them on the car but it's raining and I seem to have misplaced my jack handle (and there's only 1 legal tyre on them).

  • sorry to ask his but what you doing with you 15's

  • @624d5d2a88=jay:

sorry to ask his but what you doing with you 15's

Not too sure yet bud. I'm keeping them until I get some new rubber on the 17's and see if I like them. I'm thinking I might keep them for winter as 17's and snow = not fun.

It also depends on how sick the missus gets of my wheel collection growing in the house

  • Looks like they need a bloody good wash first off. :D

  • @a883a2c930=Venari:

They'll be getting more than a good clean, gonna be stripped down and re painted :D

  • Interior dyeing is taking a little longer than I hoped. It' looks f**king aweful at the moment too. I might have to lump it and strip it all out as doing it while it is in the car is awkward to say the least, and the fumes in the car don't go away for about 3 days.

Just to give you a taster and let you know the state of what I'm sat in right now

    Roof lining:

    Passenger door:

    Coat 1

    Coat 2

    Crivers door:

    Coat 1

And that's how much my lungs and brain could take.

It needs some flattening off on the plastics, but you can see how fresh it will all look hopefully when finished.

In all honesty I cannot see a big difference on the door material, but it's only one coat down, I've done a test strip on the carpet and that came out okay, but I can't do anything with this until I remove the front seats/central console/clean it.
