DILLIGAF?: Project Ratty
-
In the winter my DD becomes completely murdered out as I put on the winter rims/tires… they are flat black too! 8) Eventually I would like to do it proper with vinyl... but I'm happy for now.

Weight shedding and streamlining anyone?
(there's no mirrors on it BTW)
-
Why are there no mirrors?
-
@37233d942d=Lori:
Why are there no mirrors?
Easy, they cause friction in the air so cause drag, no mirrors = more speed
Nah, I'm spraying them and thought it looked cool without them
-
Ah,
I hate it lol. it looks too long in that shot, the mirrors break the car up.
What colour you spraying them?

Worked for the Rover 220 Coupe. That 150mph top speed the owners are always banging on about? Achieved by Rover in a car with no mirrors or mudflaps and with all the gaps taped up.

You serious Lori? You not been listening for the past couple of pages?
The bonnet and spoiler need re doing and after that, I'll have to stop or Mr. PoPo might not be too impressed with a "Silver" car running around being "black". I'll have to take the car off the road in the better months, bike to work and finish the job (and do the parts I have done already properly too  ).
-
Yeah lol sorry man, got a lot on my mind right now :(

Trial fitment

LOL, up, down, up, down. This story has had more twists than an epic drama!

 I've just been reading my old project thread on another forum about my Civic and it has truly inspired me to stop whinging like a bitch and get this car sorted out. It's given me a wake up call and judging by the responses I was getting from the old car, I have it in me to get this thing looking good.
Patience is the key (and a garage would help  ), the strongest point of this car is the fact it can be driven legally (Has an MOT and a windscreen unlike the last project).
Keep watching folks.

We've all seen this picture before, but this time it's staying like this
(well, when I say staying I might mean, some more of it may be going)

Interior dye goodness collected over the weekend. I think 5 litres wil be enough 8)
It is also good for dyeing rubber and plastics. :D
-
Hmm, a guy off my local Jap car club is selling these (I think they are 17's) and I know they are pretty similar to my TSW's but he only wants £60 for them (a set of 5) so I've offered him a swap for mine, or I might lump up the cash?
-
I'd take em at that price regardless…
-
same, If I was closer, I'd pay the £60.
-
Still waiting for a reply on the wheels and I have started dyeing the interior, looks a bit messy at the moment so I'm not bothering with pics but once it's done I think it's going to look quite good, I've even used it on the door plastics and its brought them up beautifully.
I gave the bonnet a first coat of the satin paint yesterday and cleaned the car down today and this is why I love satin paint
It looks stunning when it's wet and beads like this. Now I can't wait for the weather to truly open its arms (with sun!) so I can get this project moving in the right direction!

So much for not spending much on the car this year
