Ok sent the V6 sump back and just bit the bullet and bought a new one from fordprobestore> atleast I know its going to fit and wont be rusted!
motorfactors have ordered me in the gaskets.Unfortnately I managed to put a 10mm drill bit through my finger on the weekend so I'm out of action for two weeks or so :(

i done a 6mm bit through my finger!, made a nice butterfly shape out of the flesh. I never got it seen to, i kept using the germoline new skin stuff to keep it clean. It took ages to heal and ive got a nice scar now :mrgreen:
Off topic i know but i feel your pain lol.
You still need rpm dial btw ?, sorry its sitting in kitchen ready to go!.

Accidents happen,lol but thats pretty hardcore garfy. It was a real school boy error not using a vice and holding a block of wood from underneath were I'm used to drilling metal I pushed too hard was just trying to oversize a hole! and the bit went straight into my wedding ring finger taking shards of wood and metal into me.. fook me did it look grizzly, I got pictures if anyone wants to see?!?!
Funny thing is it didn't hurt at the time or at A&E, throbs like a bitch now. Nice to know I'm not alone though.
erm itsa ok no rush I cant seem to find the old PCB from the 1600 clocks to swap it over…

That is no good… I just did a similar thing about a month ago with a hole 1.5" saw bit... was not pretty

Youch! I think you have trumped us on bit size there Josh. Damn hole cutters are usually quite ragged too?!
I have to go back in tomorrow to see if the skin covering the tendon is going to live, if it hasn't it will mean another more complicated op…. Oh well count myself lucky right now I still have a working finger! 10mm more to left and I reckon it would of been adios muchachos...
So the weekend before I had been looking where teh Turbo sits in relation to the sump for the oil drain and it looked as if a 90 degree union on the sump might be a good idea so the hose would not have to bend so much.
I found this at the same place I bought the straight union and this 13mm end cap from an irrigation shop to cap off the union for now with some rubber hose.

Thanks mate Surgeon said skin is going to heal just fine its just upto me now to get it moving again so I got to do lots of fist movement :rimshot:

were those holders from halfords an what do think of them
nothing beats bean organized when it comes down to tools at least you now if you have some thing missing my whole tool box is like that lol

They are the Nielsen brand so quite cheap off ebay but do the job ok, the deep reach sockets feel like they could easily fall out though! just a need a big red chest to house 'em all in now :D

halfords pro boxes are realy good i would get anything cheaper and you could get each part seperately ive got the top and middle and very happy with them and not bad price for a good box

my tools used to be super clean and organised when i was an apprentice at the council and had to look busy even when there was nothing to do. Now that i don't use em much they're an absolute mess. All over the place.

I know what you mean especially when you take tools down the breakers and they get wet, lost etc . Im about to derust a few a mine in vinegar as Ive heard that works!
Here's another tool I think will come invaluable> Sealey magnetic ratchet bit driver that can go offline, also has a nut spinner :D

So with the impending MOT coming up I wanted to change my sun visors for ones without the drivers airbag info. on. Spent a good few hours at the breakers yesterday trying many various different models visors against the MX3 ones until I came up with these!
Black would of been nice but they all seemed to have airbag info on too, closest I could find were FTO visors being dark grey but they where a little on the short side.
These are off a Ford Puma, but I think the Ka and Festa ones are the same, you just have to use the MX3 end swing posts with a bit of tube inside the visor to make up the difference :D

Did a couple of jobs yesterday afternoon now my finger is a little better. Put in a new dizzy O ring seal from Mazda only I could buy this part, has stopped the leak though.
Also flipped the rear coilover hub mount round to gain some more lows, when doing this I noticed the mount has one slotted hole which is now at the bottom meaning a camber bolt in the top was ineffective, was not overly impressed with the fitting and holding of those camber bolts tbh so I doubt I will be using them so I need to find another way to camber to as I got a bit of rubbing with these Toyos
Will probably have to jack it back up again and go get new tyres maybe ones without rim protection might be a bit on the slimmer side?!
Got plenty more adjustment for going lower on the rear now though :D

Currently sitting -90mm up front and -110mm in the rear.
4 New Goodyear Eagle F1's being fitted this Thursday, decided to drop down a profile to 45 to get a little more stretch so hopefully It don't rub with the new summer ride height.

Big up respect going to Marco for sending Me His bumper which arrived in great condition due to His great packaging skills, and Im very pleased with it overall too :D
Spent an hour and nearly a hole can of TF-90 removing the old sticky tape and residue so I could use my import size plate on there.TF-90 is the don for this kind of the thing, the trick is to remove residue when the solvent is wet using a plastic scraper (This stuff drys within 3 or 4 secs. so you got to be quick)
Will try and rope the wife into help me fit it this weekend 8)

Had the 195/45/15 Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted and wow what a tyre :D grip is outstanding and road noise has been reduced along
with improved ride quality. Little bit more of a stretch but not as much as I was hoping so the rears are still going to need some camber so Im going to do it the right way with camber plates in the future.Will drop the front down another 30mm or so intime just waiting on the new sump as I really want a guard as it will be sooo close the ground.
Changed the lugs nut to gen. chrome mazda type as Im losing all the green even in the engine bay, just going back to my orig. plan
of OE black looking silicon hoses throughout, will post pictures when completed.
