  • @e6d50ec88b=youdirtyfox:

to be a mint hatch garnish of ebay 8)

Was this off a greeny blue MX3?

  • came off Item number: 160554015313

    whys that mate?

Yup, just contacted the guy about it last night, got a reply today saying it had gone this week. You pesky peskier.

  • I had been emailin Him all week pestering
for a proper photo to make sure it was legit, so you
dont even have to be too quick to catch the dirty 'ol fox

You win some, you lose some, I just lost
out on some AEM fuel and ign. management
that went for a ton

  • stuck a 12 x 6 plate on the rear, lots of soft cutting in the
sunshine to remove the shadow of the old plate 8)

  • sorry fox but while I do like most things I see on this site, this is where it gets a my back up a little…

(personal view, please don't take it as an attack on you)

While Mazda is a Jap company, the MX3 was released in the UK so it should have the long plate on the back and front.

The AZ3 and Presso, are imports so they should have the square plate on the back and either on the front, like the bumpers are molded to fit.

All this does in my eyes, is show that not everyone can own a JAP import car, but anyone can buy a UK spec jap car and make it look like the uprated model.

I have this little rant at the MR2 owners who add the MR2 Turbo body parts to there none-turbo versions... why? to anyone know knows the difference you just look too cheap to buy the import version but want the road keduos of it.

I'm not having a go at your directly bud, please don't think I am it's a personal view of mine and say the word and I'll edit this post to nothing but please don't leave it like that or at least, find a molded rear bumper to fit that plate off a scrapped import, it's a slap in the face to the people who pay more to get the import version.

Saxo drivers are teh worse for it tho, everyone I see has VTS wheels :(

  • dont worry bud I dont take anything to do with my motor personally,
    no need to edit :)

I see your points though and obviosly its personal rant you have, i needed a new plate anyway and if an import bumper comes up I'll probably take it as I want to add a lip on there at some point anyway, but it is staying like that Ima fraid!

Funny how the hole is 6" tall though..

  • Glad you didn't take it personal bud (it is a personal thing to me), end of the day, if you like it, it's all good :)

I still love them rear lights :)

  • Looking good there bud, well done on the garnish I will put up some pix soon on what I have been working on while I have been away to do with garnishes

  • Hey Keith, nice to see you back on! :)
Aye, looking forward to hearing how it's going with them!
I got impatient and couldnt wait

  • Loving that new bumper, its getting quite ferrari 599 looking

Good to see you are piling into it still, a guy from work saw you driving around the other day andsaid it looks the nuts too

  • Cheers dude, not to much
to do now exterior styling wise:

    Wing mirrors
    Hatch garnish
    Rear bumper lip
… and thats it from me on that front :D

means I can concentrate on the Turbo parts.

    Funnily enough just chatted to
a random fella in a carpark who used
to have an Mx-3 who could'nt beleive it
    was a standard front bumper.

  • add a rear wing to that list maybe 8)
Couple of pics of the garnish fitted,
feels a bit naked down back now

  • I think you have them on your mind but a pair of projectors in black would finish that front end nicely 8)

  • I'll have to have a good ganders
at SstenizZ 's projectors at Japfest
as Im still not sure about them on a
red car, I like the way the silver from
the lights pick up the silver/white reflectiveness
    on the wheel rims 8)

I think this 156 spoiler could really pop
    on the '3 too!

  • measured up lunchtime
    for said alfa 156 spoiler,
using the dims. I got off
an ebay seller and the work calipers…..

Tip to tip at the front: 123cm
Tip to tip at the back:112cm
Front to back on Mounting plinths: 50cm
Mounting plinth width: approx 2 inches

Wonder how much flex on OE Alfa spoiler will have in it?

  • Not that much I don't think :( Could still cut it in half, add a few cm with fiberglass or something and then reattach the 2 sections together?

Would look great if you do it though.

  • yeah that could be done, or a bit of heat might
    persuade it!?

  • Been told that there is absolutley
no give in the spoiler, so it will have to
be cut and filled back together, using some rods
and fibreglass, made a cardboard map of the bootlid
this morning so I can adjust it within ballpark in the kitchen
then take out to the car for finalising. I think the undersides
of the spoiler legs will have to be honed into shape too!

  • Try getting plastercine, get it really hot and soft and put it on the car then push the spoiler into it, this will give you the shape needed to make a small plastic filler so it fits the body tight instead of cutting the base of the spoiler and having to remake mounts etc
