Cv joint querry

  • You can check your inner CV joints by crawling under the car getting hold of the drive shaft and moving it about any way you can and see if you can feel excess play in it. Try to turn it, pull it, and rock it.

never got email notification for this.

wanted to fit my self but i want it done right.

searched every where for the inner cv joint and cant find them no where.
    what would you recons gone?
only knocking steering to the left and only on quarter lock?

  • how do i tell a abs cv joint to a normal one too while im here and before i collect this cv joint?
    thanks

  • ABS has that serated style rotor in the middle. I just installed one from fordprobestore, seemed like a quality part.

Well I'd recommend high quality parts like the ones I sell (I would I'm biased after all), I could sell those cheap ones if I wanted, but I dont, as I think they are poorly made and will have a shorter life, and I dont want a reputation for selling low grade stuff.

£12 for a CV joint, if that is a new one, it really isnt going to be high quality at that price. Time the seller takes a few quid profit, the shipping cost from factory, manufacturers profit, the actual money left to make and for components within is pennies.

  • lol I was dubious about buying Roc's CV as I thought £32 was too cheap for the amount of machining and work that goes into making one of those! £12 you've gotta worry unless it's an unwanted part sell out, but sure it'll keep you going. Everything I've bought of FPS has never had to be replaced, so the minimal extra cash is worth the security to me. Ebays great but I personally avoid it for functional, vital parts.
