Marco's Black Beast aka 'Sooty'
-
so… you are toying with skylines and i got absolutely stuffed by a focus ST yesterday pmsl. mind you he only pulled me in after 1xx mph so the little 1.8 didnt do too badly against a ford turbo ;)
-
lol yea I reckon I'd take it all day now the missfires sorted. It was tit for tat with the missfire!
It turns out what may be a fix for the problem is not necessarily the solution. My missfire came back last night, nothing had changed. So early this morning I borrowed the HT leads from my red mx3 and put them on sooty. Went for a run and my oh my smooth as you like. I then pulled over and loaded up the old spark map, still smooth :D So back to aggressive timing, 9psi and smooth pulling. Damn it's pretty fast now
I also raised the car up a bit on one side, it was lower on the passenger side despite the same number of rotations on the coilovers. I also rolled up the other arch whilst I was at it. Now cornering at speed with no rubbing, ahhh feels good :)
Yea garfy I'd love a garrett, or ideally a precision, just can't blow that amount at the moment! Maybe when my rust bucket is parted out.

Yeehaw. Shite launch but still! Can't wait to get decent Tyres!
-
Whoa, thats quick! How does it handle that much power to the front wheels?
-
Hells yeah. get some road slicks on there and thatll be serious speed. whats it like through the corners???
-
Under 5.5 thats what im after, well done, im sure you could do better though
-
damn right! I thought the launch sucked and still got that. I'd like less than 5 with some decent tyres.
Handling is great with the xyzs and lsd… but it is more than useable power for 1st and 2nd with the current tyres. 3rd gear is the first one you can relax a bit about traction at WOT.
-
You should bring it down to Japfest on the 11th!
-
I've a course that weekend :( There's always something!!! Next event will hopefully be straightliners in enniskillen on the 18th sept.
-
Might take a spin up to that if I can get a bit of a crowd going.

@c975fe1be7:
I won’t talk much about the convoy as you all know what they consist of, although I will say the journey was made sweeter with the addition of a TVR Sagaris and a quite unusual Mazda MX3 V6 Turbo!
:D

Fuck yeah!.. Seeing the BB at speed makes me want another one now..
-
Excellent bit of notoriety 8) Looks beastly too :)
-
everything about your car screams beast lol!, except the wonky number plate lol !, ive got a small motorbike one on front, dont know if its legal but it looks the shizzle !!.
-
That second hi-speed pic does look the shizzle 8)
-
Kind of difference have you noticed with the coil pack?
-
Also a t28 turbo from a Nissan 200sx is pretty good and cheap for a garret a s15 turbo is the same but is ball bearing instead. Just had a look at some old comments

Just to update I'm currently NA KLZE. I've a few ideas going on. For the short term I think I'm going to have another go at getting the ITBs working. Going to order some jenvey linkage (£128 plus VAT :o :o :o ) soon to properly link the 2 banks. Hopefully that will fix the balancing problems that plagued that project.
I have to say the sound of KLZE and an exhaust cutout is simply immense!
Bay currently:
KLZE
Megasquirt etc
Exedy standard clutch
Kf01 fly
Standard gearbox plus .717 5th
35 mpg last tank, 305miles per 39.7 litresI've also got some used Yokohama Advan A048 to try at the next drag event. See if I can beat my last NA time of 15 flat. Unfortunately the surface is poor, so we can never match POD times but I'm hoping these tyres will make up for it.
-
Get on them ITB's that sound would be eargasmic, bay looks sweet either way Bro.
-
You could always make a plenum for them. I know it kind of defeats the purpose of having ITB's but a lot of ITB setups are run that way. It would help balance them out.
