@299390c4f6=jamesmx3:
found these on ground control site, its in america but looks cool!!
http://www.ground-control-store.com/products/description.php/II=31
they convert normal shocks to sort of 'coil overs' ie adjustable ride height!!!
does anyone know of a UK source for these?? not sure if they would work as well with normal shocks going that low but they seem to get a good write up from the US. not sure about importing something that heavy though.
-
i have just recieved a quote fot the escort ZX2 tokico shocks posted from the USA for $310. I have just replied asking about getting the springs and top bearings.
the ZX2s have a 22mm piston(?) whereas the mx3 is 19mm, this means getting new bearins for the fronts and drilling the mount out to 22mm. the price seems very good to me if i can get it all for less than $500 i'll be well pleased.
-
nice one! hope the tax nazis dont hit you too hard! Though can't see it going over $500. What springs you running with?
-
i'll try to get them to put on that its a gift then no tax! :D
not sure yet on the springs, the eibach ones are expensive for the zx2, around £200 delivered i'm not sure whether i'd be able to get mx3 ones overhere and then i would save on postage. but its wether they would fit the zx2 shocks??
i have seen some 'megan' ones on ebay for $150 delivered made to fit the zx2, but they are not progressive rate springs.
-
what a gift that would be! Yea eibach make great but a bit expensive springs (my bros 323f ba handling is awesome on them). Though I like the aesthetics of a bigger drop than that. Not sure about whether the springs interchange, im sure it'll be amongst the mx-3.com quagmire somewhere!
-
after a bit more research…
The mx3 H&R springs will work well with the zx2 tokicos at a 40mm, and at £150 are cheaper as getting the eibachs from usa. Also the H&R gold plated ones will fit but at over a grand i think i'll let somebody else have them!!
the shocks will give a 1/4" - 1/2" drop on their own as they are shorter than the mx3 oem ones. so ill be looking at a 46-52mm drop depending on the length of the shocks. not bad for £300ish.
the strut bearings from ford USA are $80 each which can be ordered through the same company as i linked. I posted in the want to buy forum on mx-3.com to see if i can get somebody to send me some over for a bit cheaper!
-
just to let you know im hopefully getting a set of coilovers from dubai coz my boss gets carparts from there ill update you on the price and how many i can get as soon as i can ps. my boss is flying there tomorro so should find out soon
-
oh yea?! What make?
-
not sure yet will let you know as soon as i find out but there ment to b race spec
-

-

http://www.jeroentje.nl/index.php?page=product_view&auto_id=0150&product_id=70150230
Look rather sexy indeed!
-
get in!!! looks like they have finally made them. however not sure if they are the pic of the ones for the mx. as thought the back struts were held in by three bolts not 4. any one have views?
-
the short ones look to me to have 4 studs, which would make me think they were the fronts, and the longer ones have that rount top mount like our rears 3 stud?
-
our rear ones have 2 studs, pretty sure they are actually MX3 coilovers :D i want
-
thought they were three as i had a new rear sus cap put on and had three on. but unless that just the cap
-
Manual also illustrates two but I cba finding a pic of that!
-
definately only 2 studs for the rear struts and those orange struts look magnificent! aren't they super expensive though?
-
$1,220
or for us
£613Personally I think thats not bad at all, assuming they are high quality, but they look great. My bilsteins and springs ended up £380 odd after new boots etc. So a few hundred extra for that setup seems worth it!
-
they do look great. would like to get some testing news from them first before i get. looks like saving to the max now.
