Is yours broken?
Well, rip it apart then!
Take a craft knife to the outside edge and carefully, and bloody slowly move it in, the sticky foam isn't uniform on the inside, there are gaps. Find one and use it cut (Not saw) your way all the way around, then slowly pull the BACK from the front. DO NOT PULL THE FRONT FROM THE BACK. - It's far far simpler to replace the back, then it is the front if it snaps.
& while your at it. Pick up these off ebay.

The Incar version to rip apart and use it as a step down to wire into the cars loom
The strip light, to replace the broken one.Once it's apart, that's it.
Remove the insides, and clean them up a little. Cut the strip to size (Not from the wired side) and glue it back together.- You can dump the entire inside content. The video will highlight why, and what, the little silver thing does.. frankly.. I didn't like the dull look and went with the bright version.
So now, a few images of doing it:
I'd wire it into the car before sealing it back up, just in case you wire it into the loom the wrong way :P
