What's that crack on strut mount zone ?
-
this
have i to be worried ?
was told not in the immediate future , but i ask here as when i will replace struts/wheel i will think about it.
I dont get if the part comes with the struts or is something i have to buy separately
-
Hiya, definately get it done soon as tyhe top of your shock is in the center and if it goes it leaves a nice dent in the bonnet
they cost £35, just ask for a strut top, you will need spring compressors to change this but its not a massive job to do, those 4 bolts on top, 2 bolts by the caliper and the whole strut comes out, just tighten the springs with th compressor, release the bolt in the center of the top and replace - job done :)

Uryeah ok thank YOU !
!!!!!!Marco can you give me a link for the piece? with that price /code maybe? !!!!!!
I 'm gonna buy it as soon as i find a good price (35 its ok but i dont see it),
as off course i have to do all the labor at once.By the way about the spring in the other thread , i posted a link with the photo , and as i said i'm not even sure is just -40mm ,the code i found point to -45mm (but i 'll do let do check , i have original springs and shocks with just 5000km on it too ! to compare !, or even swap and done if you says leverage is like you says .).

ps:with the picture was easier to look for ..so found also in Italy that
Do you know if it's different quality your posted ,than that one (Kyb) ?(i did read has rubber and tend to last not so much those pieces , on canadian forum)
-
Would think that KYB is higher quality, other then that bud. No idea.
-
I am pretty sure they are the same for 1.6 & 1.8 as they all use the same springs and suspension set up, it maybe different shocks due to the lighter engine but doubt it very much as mazda liked to use the same parts a lot. will look into this
-
found this in america, kyb is higher than standard oem quality and fits all models / engines

KYSM5044 you mentioned i dont find in Europe,
here i find KYB SM5305 .
(not sure , it seems the same piece just the photo in the opposite side)I will have to check my old suspensions (in a little garage of a friend) to see if i have (would be luck) but i doubt those support are included with suspensions.
