Edy's klde project No.2 (try again)….......

If that's the only rust, why not replace the steel and fix it?
-
Yep,Marco. But the good thing is,that i can still build a really good one out of two. :bigok:
Lory, there are everything completely gone around rear trailing arm anchor points so need a bench probably to do the right thing.i would like to weld it up but it's just too big job.:(
will swap everything into black one and keep rest for spares.
-
:(
At least parts will live on, good luck buddy.
-
Thanks,Lori :D
-
No problem bud, It's a shame as I love the MX3 in white.. Maybe you could swap some pannels out and have a car that looks like a chess board ? :P
-
I was thinking about black & white.it would look nice.some day i may weld it up and get back on road.maybe in wintertime.my main target is get black one painted, wiring loom & all interior swapped and get trough m.o.t. asap. :D
-
Know the feeling, I have 5 weeks to get the equipe moving, and I can't move that deadline :(
-
Yes you can! Well hopefully see it this summer complete, so for the first time in NI I wouldn't be the only mx3 at a show!
-
-
Todays plan is do the same with white one, swap everything in black and hopefully get the DE started with proper obd1 tonight.
-
Didn't manage to get it started. :( have all interior wiring +dashboard swapped and wires behind the wings sorted.engine harness and rear wiring left to finish. :D
-
unlucky with the white se.
looks like your getting stuck in to swapping that wiring over.
Keep a list if you can of everything that needs to be swapped, as it will definitely be of use to others.
-
No ,admin.i'm not stuck at all.Just haven't got time to update.wiring was fully swapped in saturday night,so now i have a 1997 mx3 with fully working OBD1  :bigok:
-
Can't belive, that engine runs so nice with DE brain.Completely different note.Rebuilding rear axle atm.Gonna take some time to get everything cleaned, painted and new bushes made.Especially in that heat.
-
You misunderstood me, when I said:
@7cbbb97e85:
looks like your getting stuck in to swapping that wiring over.
I meant that you were really cracking on with the job and getting it done fast.
What wiring did you have to swap over?
Did you have to swap things like the heater over?
What about the airbags?
-
Awesome stuff Edy!
-
sorry,admin.my fault.
there are tree seperate wiring looms.one underneath the dashboard & behind both wings, engine harness and wiring loom under the floor matt.older car has 4 bolt steering column and newer has 2 bolt so had to swap dashboard + column aswell.there is difference between distributors.a few relays in engine bay are different.that's the main things to get car going.
because i have older steering column-haven't got airbag.(hope, she'll pass M.O.T. with that setup).
both of my cars have alarm+rcl but they are different so that's another thing i have to sort out.
Yea,Marco.that's crazy.at least,weather helps a bit at the moment :D
-
Just forgot about heaters.they are the same only in black car i had electric controls(loads of buttons).had to remove electric motors and fit control cables to convert it to the manual one.
-
some progress on rear trailing arm bushes.after third attempt i got mould made in right size and finaly got my first ever polybush made :bigok:
-
Great work! You got liquid polyurethane? I recommend grease too :-)
