EDY'S KLDE project….
-
Marco,I'm affraid about my wiring loom and ecu.My ecu is k862 with four ports and 3 yellow connectors.
-
Well it should run on the k8 ecu to start, but will run very rich. I have a ZE chipped ecu you can try and a few OBDI k8 ecus you could try before the swap to test if it matters.
-
i would be interested to try that obd1 k8 ecu.can i try DE ecu to run K8?
-
nice looking car edy, looking at the pix first stop will be a full induction system
-
it's hard to say, djmarcopolo.the first and main thing is get that DE in and get it running. :D
-
hei,guys.what clutch i should use? :)
-
-
For a DE/ZE I would use the mx6 v6 exedy/daiken clutch. It's what mazda chose and it's a great clutch that's perfect for a daily and fine for spirited driving.
-
thanks,guys!!what about this one???
And do this clutch fit k8 flywheel?
-
I'd go for the stage 2 or 3 F1 clutch from Sonicmotors.com. I had the 3 on my klze. A bit too grippy for ordinary road use, but did manage the immense torque..
-
tnx for info, guys!! :D i would like to go for cheap but good option at the moment, because my funds running wery low :( .can't wait to see that engine in my garage.hope, boys working hard and it will be out before weekend.Marco,do jou stil have that chippable k8 ecu for sale?
-
IMO the F1s aren't great anyway. Previous owner of my engine had one which came with the engine. The friction surfaces on the pucks/paddles were cracked despite looking barely used. Similar reports from mx-3.com and probetalk.
Go with the exedy. Part numbers are:
Clutch Release Bearing: BRG708
Clutch cover/pressure plate: MZC608
CLutch Disc: MZD007US
Whole Clutch Kit: MZK2080Yes Edy, have you got a chip ok?
-
no,Marco.haven't got chip yet.can i meet you somewhere this weekend for that ecu?
-
Well, guys.project is not moving forward as quick,as i wanted.went to scrapyard today and engine is not out yet.guy said, that probably next week.
-
hi everybody!just a little update.got DE home and fitted in tonight just to see that engine is ok.started up with k862 ecu and it run fine.then connected kl05 ecu and injection fuse blew out.i'm just confused now,can i chip up the k862?or i need to change all wiring loom.
-
Hi!At the end got free minute to my project  Ordered head gasket set and started strip, clean and inspect job to the engine.
-
Good stuff edy, did you get the ecu issue sorted?
-
not yet, jayom.but i have some ideas about that.need get engine back in and then try :D
-
It"s a long time, since i was last time there.more than year.last year in february i striped my klde and discovered all bearings gone.ordered them from probestore in march and got them in middle of june.in that time i lost a bit of interest, because couldn"t do anything with car.in august i had engine rebuilt.fitted engine and box in and started up,selected 1.gear and g-box just blew up  .there was a small screw dropped in the box.got another one of mx6(think that"s original one for my de) and fitted in.took car for spin.she goes really well.engine is so quite an smooth, but stil runing on k862 ecu.over the winter tried to found wirig diagram for obd2 but no luck.i was looking to make a adaptor from obd2 to obd1 as seen in ebay.at the moment i"m at the stage to swap complete wiring loom.if anybody have one for sale,i"m interested.looking forward to get car ready for summer.
