Ah its working now. My ignition barrel switch melted itself a couple of months ago and took the starter motor with it. A new barrel switch would have been £75 so i looked on ebay and got this bad boy for £15.)

Have now tinted the lights to match the wheels a bit better. Think i'll put a bit more on the back ones.

I definitely think you should name this KITT!

Not the first time this has been suggested.

Just had to take a pic of her on my way in.

This was definitely the reason for the puddles of oil wherever i parked creating a very awkward moment pulling off my girlfriends parents driveway whilst they watched and ever since having to put a plastic tub under the incontinent car whenever i parked for the past month or so.
Thought it might be an hour of a job but had to remove the exhaust down pipe by cutting off the seized nuts and re threading the bolts. The little bolts on the sump itself weren't much better so had to be super careful as i have a nack for rounding and/or snapping things. One of the reasons i left the profession.
New sump is now firmly on and after 200+miles this weekend still contains all the oil it started off with. Result.
Could somebody possibly post a pic of what the 1.6 engine covers should look like as i have a sneaky suspicion that mine has been cut around the sump and exhaust. Possibly as the screws will likely be rusted on.
-
There should be 2 plastic covers under there to deflect debris away from the sump but they dont completely cover it
-
yeh, mine has two but they don't cover it at all (i managed to change sumps and drop the exhaust without touching it). I'm pretty sure its just been cut around them.
-
Just had a look at mine Jim and its cut to the contour infront of the downpipe basically, can grab you a pic if you like?
-
don't worry bout it. Not gunna make much difference. Might be wrong about it being cut then. If it has then its a very neat cut. was thinking of bolting something to the cover to cover the sump but with 127,000 miles on the clock i doubt its got enough life left to wear through another sump.
-
wouldnt hurt to do that whilst you there, I nearly did the full undertray thing, still might if I go any lower!
127K shes just broken in

Nice optimism. Although i have noticed the severity of the problems lessening.

have just ordered my flyeye for the front lights and bought the red piping to do a black and red version of youdirtyfox's front grill.
-
excellent look forward to seeing your version in black with the red detailing.

Me neither, was feeling flamboyant so have gone for this fancy mesh. Just hope it is flexible enough. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250837190545&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_1366wt_1141

Oh noice! I nearly went for that thought it too expensive at the time, might of well of done as the first piece of metal mesh I bough I cut too short!
as I was trying to make it fit in the hole as opposed to behind it.wont lie to you getting the mesh to sit right along the bottom edge was a **** of a job! The bumper support pins it in at the top, but you'll need some clips of somekind to get it to come back in at the bottom.
Look forward to seeing any progress pics you put up :)

New grill done. Didn't have quite the effect i wanted. Not sure if i'll keep it red. Possibly a bit too much.
Need to sand down the body filler again and repaint. Didn't realize how difficult it'd be to get smooth. Will try with some rougher sand paper.

was tempted to put the number plate on't side but opted to put it back central.
Could do to de-badge the front now methinks.
