Relaquering red mirrors?
-
My mirrors are awfully sun damaged, got some spare ones but unfortunately they arent as mint as I believed they would be, these dont have sun damage however the laquer has gone all soft and rubbery in places and is peeling off, leaving a matt red underneith. Does anyone know if a light spray of clear laquer would restore them or am I just p*ssing money into the wind?

you'll never get a decent laqcuer finish with an at home spray job
like you would from a pro spray shop beleive me.
-
How marvelous, ok then, thanks for the answers. Next question, who wants to buy some laquer fcked red mirrors?
-
No thanks, got some 'o those already, soon to be replaced though by
some sexy new vitaloni californians 8)PM Gulfmx3 see how much He would charge for spraying them?
-
If you've got spare ones, You pay for postage, I'll spray them up properly for £25, cheap at half the price. Top job guaranteed!! Please don't spray them with a rattle can
-
Thanks gulf, thats a top offer, but I really cant afford any more expense at the moment, especially an ontop expense, if I do that Ill be paying out twice when ebay has good sets for £50. Might carbone fibre them, reckon that would or wouldnt look out of place?
-
Nope doesnt work imo on a red car wing mirrors
need to be body coloured, I 'shopped it before
and it doesnt look right, top of the base plate looks
good black though ;)

That offer for £25 sprayed is a bargain, just take yours off for a week, post on a 24hr service to and they will be back in no time shiny and new for around £40 with the postage
