Problem oil leaking help needed
-
@25466cf7c9:
loads of oil pooling under the manifold.
Which manifold? Do you mean in the valley of the V? Or the front exhaust manifold? Check the filter is intact and the housing?
-
Yeh the exhaust manifold sorry. Will check oil filter this afternoon, nice one.

A couple of months a go I had the same problem, it turned out to be the oil pressure sender located directly above the oil filter. Cheap to replace through ROC and quite simple to change if you have small hands.
-
very good call! and cheap fix

yes that could be it just found this which is very similar
[http://www.mx6.com/forums/australia-new-zealand/231980-severe-oil-leak-oil-pressure-sender.htmlSo now where to get one from, luckily i have my tools with me at work today.
Also is an oil pressure switch the same thing or only part of the sender or a different part altogether.
Links please if possible for parts im really not sure what it is, but i think that, that is the problem, no visible leaks from rockers, cant really put more oil in to test as the carpark at work will get ruined and i will get bollocked ](http://www.mx6.com/forums/australia-new-zealand/231980-severe-oil-leak-oil-pressure-sender.html

just reading about them now and what im reading is, if that is faulty then my oil light may or may not come on but not much saying that the leak could come from there, struggling to even find a pic of where about it is

Trust me the oil pi$$es out if the oil pressure switch goes, had it happen to me too.
Can run the engine dry in a very short space of time.
As said about £6 to replace but a bitch to get to.

Update: Put 4.5L in the sump let it settle, no drips or much going on, so i turned it over and oh dear it shat 3L straight out the bottom, couldnt see where it came from as happend so fast. It defo was the vicinity of the sump and oil filter which is where the oil pressuer switch is.
Thank you everyone for the replies, and marco as usual helping out with pics. Managed to get car towed to garage so hopefully now it will just be the filter, sump gasket or oil pressure switch/sender.
Everyone get your fingers crossed for tomorrow
