Lowering springs not low !!

It could be your shocks are taking some weight as they were designed for the higher spring, wait a coule of weeks for the shocks to settle with the springs

OK from the pic it looks like you have around 4 inches between the tyre and arch, even after a couple of weeks it will only settle 10 to 15 mm..
As for the shock taking some weight, NO the spring will be holding the weight up that high, the spring is not under compression at the moment as your using a std shock so no preload on the spring hence why its sitting so high, now to get it to a level where its sitting where you want it id go as far to say it may become coil bound, thats why i said they appear to be wrong..
Mine is sat as said on -40mm Gmax springs with std shocks its settled by 10mm from first installation as i measured it from the start..
Mine at no point looked like it was sat high in the air, i have used Apex on Wes and now Gmax, the Apex were taken off as the ride was a little to hard for my liking ..
I may be running 17'' rims but the rolling radius is only -1.76% different to a std wheel setup..
Personally id remove them and send them back asking for a refund..
Oh this is just my 2pence mind you so feel free to ignore….

Doesn't look like much of a 45mm drop to me. I can't see them ever looking like a proper 45mm H&R drop. I'm done with buying lowering springs, next suspension will be coilovers for me. I agree with Rainy, I just can't see them dropping what, another 40mm to actually be right? I hope they do, but seems like Jamex aren't a recommended make for us now, sorry that you had to be the one to show that Stew!
Maybe someone else running jamex can chime in?

Maybe Jamex is right for me, I want to lower but I am not going to pay the £1100 to have my kerb lowered to get on my driveway so that only leaves me 25mm max I can lower by as that is the lowest point I have measured that will touch if I go low.

Agreed they will never go to 45mm for some reason the 40mm gmax go well lower.
Agreed coilovers need saving up for!

**My project requires a wholly bespoke set of springs. The people making them will have my stock springs as a template, from which they can make any combination of rate, height and colour to fit the MX-3.
I've just submitted a group buy enquiry to them and I'll let you know a ballpark price as soon as I can.
Edit: As a point of preparedness, I'd say you ought to reckon on £200 as a pessimistic ballpark high and £150 as an optimistic ballpark low.**

Considering that the higher end springs from manufacturers come in around these prices (and more in some cases) I think this is a good price and will put my name down for these..

I've been browsing the internet for their work. They've been quoted as providing a full set of four for £180 on a similar car and a pair with a four inch lift for a hardcore green-laner for £110. They're made from heat-treated, shot-peened chrome vanadium steel and powdercoated (I've asked for purple :D ). I'm not sure what guarantee they put on them - I'll ask before I commit anyone - but GMax are 3yr and I doubt they'll be anywhere near as short as that.
