Speedo Recal
-
My speedo goes up to 180Mph (it does say MPH under the speeds as well) but using Satnav (Tomtom) it's always between 5-10MPH out on the negative side.
So 30 on dash = 25 on satnav.
Anyone with the Eunos able to confirm what there dials say?
-
mine goes up to 150
-
I'm pretty sure most cars are set like that, I remember reading somewhere that you can minus about 10% to get your actual speed, so 30 = 27, 100 = 90 etc, not sure how true that is mind you.
-
i heard that as well mattuh, could be just a rumour though :?
-
they all do that sir….. (ive always wanted to say that. lol).
if they read under then you'd be speeding....... more
-
Yikes, Anyway to get them a little more on the money?
-
its for legal resons and if it was to be spot on it would need to be recalibrated every year. So its made to be under the actual.
Anyhow, if yours is an eunos it might have been a kph dial and someones done a mph dial conversion on it thats not very acurate, only a guess??

wahts size wheels you got ?
-
15" top of rim to bottom right down the middle.
I'm putting on the stock Mx3 wheels end of the month as well.
-

Heres how far you tyre size is out Lori…
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/55-15 4.4in 11.9in 23.9in 75.0in 845 0.0%205/50-15 4.0in 11.5in 23.1in 72.5in 874 -3.4%
your speedo will read 70mph but your actual speed will be 67.63mph
For thoase intrested if your going over to say a 17'' rim the tyre choice you should be looking for is...
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/55-15 4.4in 11.9in 23.9in 75.0in 845 0.0%215/40-17 3.4in 11.9in 23.8in 74.7in 848 -0.4%
as you will notice the difference is .4% so your speedo will be reading 70mph but your actual speed will be..69.69mph the most acurate you will get..
most suppliers will fit a 205/40/17 but make sure to ask for the 215/40/17 option...
