Marvin's entire exhaust system is unneeded as far as I can tell. If you want it, let me know (though the postage will be horrific!)

is it std or aftermarket
as i would like wes to growl a little so as to hear that v6 wine a little more..

**Marvin is, as far as I can tell, a standard SE. However, his exhaust hasn't rotted through in 8 months, so it's clearly not a Mazda pattern replacement.
I can't say for sure if there's any blowing, because he's not turned over since September and would currently find it a bit tricky, what with having no engine, but it is probably standard and probably in good nick.**

thanks for that im still waiting for the xmas prezzie from the wife so i think ill ask for a new backbox…. just which one though...
-
shame you cant try before you buy.
id go with the three inch i think. as then it wont be in your face looking so silly
marvins pipe should be ok as mine was sat for 2 years and passed its mot last month

Heya, I have the 3" sportex tail pipe and its just perfect, not too loud and you get a nice over run when you lift your foot off the accelerator, when the car is really hot on the motorway for 20 mins or more then the exhaust really pops when you change gear.
I have a sportex 3" tail + a standard mid section and it sounds nice
I think the 4" might be a bit too much but I may be wrong

**Incidentally, when Red started blowing I trucked up to Powerflow with "Standard look, standard sound" as the remit. £300 from the cat back.
However, they couldn't quite manage the sound, despite filling the backbox full of baffles to quiet it down and three years later I still don't care 'cos it sounds lovely :D
They didn't quite manage the look either - they saw two, 2" pipes and gave me two, 2" pipes. They didn't notice that the 2" wide bits were actually resonators and the pipes themselves are only 1" exit. I still don't care though  They look great - close to stock and not OTT.
For £300, it was worth it.**

That one gets my vote, looks very nice!

Its a shame they dont do a 3'' slash cut as the wife love the 4''slash cut not a 3'' round.. yeah i know i have to ask for her in put as Wes is her baby…
-
On my first MX I had a universal 4.5" slash cut straight through backbox, made by a company called Megansport, and damn did it sound good. Way to loud really, but I was young and childish back then :p
The only thing I have to say is that using a backbox like that may have sounded awesome but it sort of lost that distinct v6 noise a bit :(
-
Ive been on youtube alot lately and listening to exhaust sounds from mx3's and i see quite a few had 4''round or slashcut, i know mine is only a k8 but i wont be removing the cat or having a straight through either so maybe a 4''slashcut will be a nice note to listen to for the v6…
ps.. i have ordered a backbox now but youll have to wait till japfest to find out...lol

ooh you tease :p
