DJMARCOPOLO'S - The GREEN RIVET
-
The clocks went back and I forgot so I was up at 5am this morning :x
As soon as it was light I stripped the gear lever and fitted a short shift gear lever, it is now a very close box and only moves half of what it did before.
No more knocking my knuckles in 5th when the satnav is plugged in :)Am now looking at getting some thin stainless sheet cut like the splash back stuff in B&Q and replace the gaitor with a ferrari style polished metal plate
and also fitted the old school klaxon horn under the bonnet. :P
-
nice 1 on the shifter, what 1 did u buy and if ur shiter help up by 2 rubber mounts? i was stripping a MX3 today at the scrap yard for the arm rest centre console thing and noticed it looks like the upgraded the mounting with a box?
-
Mine is the rubber mount on a bar, a pain in the ass but it works fine, I imported it from america like all my spares and cost £38 all in.
Feels great too, last one I had was in a capri and loved that too

Well my online shopping trip came to a head today and everything from around the world all arrived today :D :D :D
Today I got my 6k HID kit from japan, my stainless decat pipe from florida and my M3 halo's for the spot lights from china.
Looks like a busy sunday this week :D :D
-
Been spending money on the car and not fitting anything so when hammy came down to do his cambelt I fitted the 40mm lowering springs I bought of sam youdirtyfox a few weeks ago
I found an MX3 being broken on ebay that was a surprise when he sent me photos of it,
lost in the postal system somewhere is a full stainless system from headers back that I paid £50 +£20 p&p
Then I asked for a photo of the engine bay and have now bought everything good off this engine for £60 inc p&P so will have loads to fit over the xmas holidayHave now received a replacement HID kit after the other one was broken so will be fitting that.
The decat pipe is being modified this week so will be fitting that soon
Will get some pics of the car uploaded of it 40mm lower
-
Some pics of it lowered now, doesnt notice much excpt driving it now :D :D

Thanks for those sam, they are spot on

Excellent news!

Put my new alloys on today
GOOD + BAD
Good is I think they look great
Bad is because I have lowered it, if anyone is in the back or hard bumps the rear arches touch the tyre over hard bumps.
I also found that one of my konigs has cracked on the inside of the rim and the crack travels from the edge 40mm into the rim.
I cannot swap them back because the konig is a write off :cry:Anyway heres some pics of them.
-
they look better
-
They look nice, got yourself a bargain there!! What you doing with your konigs? might be interested if they are for sale at a good price, including damaged one? Just the rims mind no tyres

Because they touch now and again I want to get something similar but back to 17" so I am willing to do a straight swap with something similar in a 17" with tyres
Gulfy if you like the konigs I will get the tyres removed and you have have the set for £80 - theyre an £800 set new but I also paid a fortune because they need special tuner wheel nuts and I also found lockers for them that cost £45 for the nuts alone so £80 for wheels and nuts

Goodbye. I'm off to go stick my head in the snow.
Talking of which, you had much snow over there.? it's usually 30+ degrees C here around this time of year, but we've had a heap of rain instead these last 3 weeks…

This is a pic of the crack in the rim of the konigs

Well found why the tyres were battering the arches, forgot I had over 50kg in club lights in the boot.
Now thyre out the wheels arent grounding into the arches but still think they are a little over size so still want to swap them off.My new exhaust started getting unwrapped today :D
-
why do the tyres/wheels rub? are they 205 tyres ?, wheels look like 18" wheels  !. is the offest quite large ?.
only seen one large exhaust on mx3 and it sounded insane!!. But wasnt to everyones taste. Cant wait to see it tho!

Cant wait to see it tho! They are 18" wheels-225/40/18, you cannot get any larger tyre in there than those, there is 10mm space when on full lock and about 10mm between the tyre and the spring at the bottom of the strut.
because I have lowered the car 40mm the wheels bounce up into the wheelarch lip and just rub the edge of the tyre.
It is all down to the springs, if they were standard they would fit perfect
