DJMARCOPOLO'S - The GREEN RIVET

  • I now have everything back from spray shop ready to go so spent an hour dry fitting the new grills that are going on the bumper to match what is under the bonnet and to match some of the other bits n the pipeline

Sorry did have to edit background of our tea hut lol

  • It'll be interesting to see how that looks on, I think I like it, can't be sure though! Great colour scheme either way. Whats the plan for this so, JDM/Mazdaspeed skirts, spoiler?

    And  at the poster!

It will be jdm skirts, rear bumper, MS spoiler, MS front bumper, Carbon Garnish (if I ever get time to make a new one) all in the Noble Green to Match the car
The Equipe stickers are going to be remade as they are the reason I own this car and they will be replaced with KLZ equipe stickers in exactly the same format but in mint green colour
Most of the engine bay is mint green already and will get some attention and I may get a new set of alloys powder coated green to match and then thats it for outside, not too much green but it goes well with the oem colour anyway and no-one else has done that colour

The fog light switch will now become the green lantern switch and will now run the green headlights already fitted but The grill will glow faintly green at night and the bonnet vent will glow green
Thats as far as I want to go unless I go for a partial vinyl wrap which is still a possibility

  • Can't say I like the nuke thing bud, looks a little tacky for my tastes.

I do like the items however :)

  • Thats certainly attention grabbing! :P Imho I think the mesh should be bought forward more so it sits in the hole rather than behind it and do the top hole the same mesh?!

  • I know what you mean Sam with bringing it forward but want a clean crisp edge and like it sat back like that, I do want to do the top grill done but its a mission as most of the bolts that hold the rear beam in place are rusted solid, I removed most of the bolts with a grinder when i took it off

  • Saturday I fitted the oil cooler for the power steering so now have the shiniest oil cooler in britain :bigok:

Got the mazdaspeed bumper fitted but we dont have weather for good photos but will update as more stuff goes on and when the sun finally comes out

Got a huge air lock in the power steering system so left with no power steering at the moment so need to get it on ramps to get it bled, I took it to RAW MOTORSPORT not far from me and now paying a fortune for the air lock to be sorted and have the full set of stainless steel manifolds and down pipes adjusted and fitted for the MX so she will be at full power finally without stock manifolds and the EGR Valve disconnected permanently

heres a couple of pics of progress this week

  • I do like that oil cooler, might need to do the same :)

  • There was once a vinyl wrapped car I saw somewhere that had a louis vuitton logo all over it. And I can't help but see it everytime I see your grill.
I've tried to look past it but can't lol.

  • Excuse my stupidity, but why an oil cooler for the steering?

  • They all have them, the oil must get hot at the back of the bay

  • Never heard of an oil cooler for power steering before, so mines got one?

  • All have them gulf. Best thing is to get a small mocal cooler in its place if it's close to rust through.

  • ok thanks, learn something every day!

  • OMFG

Just got the car back after almost making me £500 lighter in the pockets

The stainless headers are done, the EGR valve no longer exists in my world and I can still put the cat on for MOT time

Just took her for a spin with her non working power steering its just amazing now and she has really unleashed the beast, loads more acceleration, no lag and the revs tick over just right now so loads of minor problems sorted in one hit

I wont even try to explain how good it sounds now too :bigok: :bigok: :bigok:

  • your running out of things to do slowly !. The manifolds are a great addition!. Shame they dont stay shiny for long :(
Be good to get a mx3 dyno day arranged for late 2012 if everyones up for one.

  • Im not running out that quick lol, I have a full rebush on the list yet and a heap of interior work to do yet but that one is a biggy out the way

  • What parts are you gonna use for a re bush ?
Probestrore updates or just Mazda oems?

  • Is that the MX6 SS ehaust manifold you picked up off Ebay bud?

Might do the same while the engine is out to save time later, what do you think?

  • I may have a look at probestore ones but if costs go to high then probably oem and get a rear strut in there

Lori they were the cheapies from ebay but I have had them reshaped a little, rewelded and the welded joints sharpened inside for better flow, 10hours of work in those to make them perfect as the guys from RAW worked some race magic on them, you cant see the rear joint thats been removed and raised so it has plenty of clearance from the steering rack plus I no longer have the EGR valve drawing hot air into the inlet manifold

Probably worth more than the frigging car now :imout:
