DJMARCOPOLO'S - The GREEN RIVET
-
For a car I originally paid £90 for she is doing well, I had 1 advisory on the MOT as she passed with flying colours ( after refitting the cat ) and that was for a small amount of play in the steering so to give her a bit of a make over underneath I have purchased a full set of drop link arms and new pair of trackrod ends to tighten her up a little plus a set of new plugs and some oil as its now 8 months since last service
I am planning a full rebush in the summer and probably paint a lot of parts I have to remove to do the work to smarten the parts you cannot see
Bumpers, skirts and tailgate are all in sprayshop awaiting 5 mins for the sprayers to do the first base coat, the tailgate is now delocked, filled and debadged and the carbon garnish needs sanding and thinning a little as I put 3 layers on when it is obvious now it only needs 2 so some grinding and sanding this weekend to make it fit flush then I will rattle can lacquer it as its only small
Loads more small bits to fit so while I have some time off this week I will be piling some time into her

most of mazdaspeeds stuff in the 90's was that green you have in the engine. I love the "mazdaspeed green"(official name color)
and if you eve mass produced those hatch garnish's id be down :bigok:

While on google today I typed in mx3 equipe and there is the original photo of my car when I took a punt on it and bought it, all I had was this photo and I paid a scrap yard £90 for it plus £40 delivery from bognor because the guy wanted someone to restore it instead of crushing it, he had paid £50 for it and even though it didnt run he had a feeling about it and didnt want to destroy it.
The odd thing is I had never met the scrap yard owner, I spotted online for spares and the colour just made me email him and we got chatting, its amazing what has happened in 2.5 years of buying it for sparesDecember 2010
