pre japfest sneaky peek
I had a couple of hours this week at work spare so I cut this, just needs sanding, into shape then sand all over and it will be ready for lacquer and mounts, its not a great fit but I have learnt a lot with this first one and just a bit of heavy sanding and it will get pretty close
-
That's screaming out for a de lock !
-
Aye, Delock that bitch :)
-
didnt even think of that, will get on it before its sprayed :bigok:
-
Is that the plastic rear window as well bud ?
-
wow that looks amazing… I didn't know you had an MS spoiler 8)

@38cf2f28f1=djmarcopolo:
didnt even think of that, will get on it before its sprayed :bigok:
While you at it you could have that little recess in the bumper where it meets the boot filled to give a nice clean smooth look?!

MOT day today, just failed on emissions by 0.04 on Co2 so now I have to put the cat on as I forgot to refit before hand but it shows that regular maintenance can make a difference, I bet it would have passed if I did all the plugs and an oil change last week
So thats an hour under the car today to get it retested :x
Another bit of booty for the MX arrived today, its taken a month to arrive but my special led bulbs for my halos arrived from japan so I fitted them before the rain set in today, they are much brighter and a lot darker green so they will be awesome at night
-
Hope it passes mate! Bulbs look mint, literally!
-
Cat back on this afternoon and she passed with full marks, could not get a better reading on the emissions at 0.01 Co2
Tomorrow cat back off for another year :cheers:back to the lights, green LED's from japan in MX-3 projector halos =
I see a new avatar on its way
-
Green lights are legal ? but they do look sweet.
-
Quality! alright for shows etc?
Keith I hope your going to be rockin a 12x6 number plate F&R now?;)
-
The projectors I wired up to that little box far right corner of the engine bay, I removed that as it is just a voltage reducer to give side lights using the headlight bulbs, so binned that and used the feed to turn on the green, it only comes on with side lights when ignition is on :bigok:

For a car I originally paid £90 for she is doing well, I had 1 advisory on the MOT as she passed with flying colours ( after refitting the cat ) and that was for a small amount of play in the steering so to give her a bit of a make over underneath I have purchased a full set of drop link arms and new pair of trackrod ends to tighten her up a little plus a set of new plugs and some oil as its now 8 months since last service
I am planning a full rebush in the summer and probably paint a lot of parts I have to remove to do the work to smarten the parts you cannot see
Bumpers, skirts and tailgate are all in sprayshop awaiting 5 mins for the sprayers to do the first base coat, the tailgate is now delocked, filled and debadged and the carbon garnish needs sanding and thinning a little as I put 3 layers on when it is obvious now it only needs 2 so some grinding and sanding this weekend to make it fit flush then I will rattle can lacquer it as its only small
Loads more small bits to fit so while I have some time off this week I will be piling some time into her

most of mazdaspeeds stuff in the 90's was that green you have in the engine. I love the "mazdaspeed green"(official name color)
and if you eve mass produced those hatch garnish's id be down :bigok:
-

-
The colour even matches :)

While on google today I typed in mx3 equipe and there is the original photo of my car when I took a punt on it and bought it, all I had was this photo and I paid a scrap yard £90 for it plus £40 delivery from bognor because the guy wanted someone to restore it instead of crushing it, he had paid £50 for it and even though it didnt run he had a feeling about it and didnt want to destroy it.
The odd thing is I had never met the scrap yard owner, I spotted online for spares and the colour just made me email him and we got chatting, its amazing what has happened in 2.5 years of buying it for sparesDecember 2010
