Roof lining
-
im looking to replace my roof lining as i want the entire inside of the car black. following that i dont want to just spray what is already there.
so does anyone know what material to use and glue etc…
and on scale 1-10 (10 being hard) how hard is it to replace it. etc

I tried this last year with some heavier vinyl - it looked really nice and matched the texture on the dash. However on the first hot day the glue came undone and it sagged…
I'm about to try again though. I just bought fabric from a local fabric store. There was a whole section for headlining material. Hopefully it will work better this time. I got a much lighter material!

well i think i will wait and see what happens at you end then. at mo going to find some double sicky tape and use that where the foam attaches to main roof. ( previous owner and dvd instally +alarm)

yeah I think I will work on it one night this weekend or next week. If I don't feel too lazy

double sided sticky tape??
get glue in a can, carpet fitters use it, it sprays glue out of a can, simple job ;)

 if you spray it too thick, ti'll look like that, i've retrimmed lots of stuff in sub carpet, and its come out fine as i've only sprayed a very thin layer, as in not enough for the glue to soak through to the surface
