Uprated Brakes

Does anyone know if the MX-6 F & R Brakes will fit the MX-3??
I assume the calipers would need to be swapped too?

So do you think Normal Uprated MX-3 Grooved Disks will be fine for the ZE?
Just wanna make sure I can stop it! lol

erm… yea thats why they make em for the car

My dad's MX just got back from an MOT and had front discs changed. Made me realise that MX-6 has 5 stud whereas MY mx-3 atleast, has only 4 studs. Makes me think that without mods, MX6 discs won't fit anyway

At the end of the day, although the ZE engine will get you up to the high speeds quicker, it probably won't end up making you drive any quicker overall, so you should be fine with the same brakes. If you do 100 on the motorway in your K8 chances are you'll do 100 on the motorway in your ZE.
Although, I would always suggest upgrading the brakes on the MX-3 even for the K8. I'm going for a BlackDiamond combi disc and pad setup.

Thanks for the advice,
Yeah I have been quoted for a Black Diamond setup myself!

Braking is all about weight and speed, so its all about what you want to do with your car.
e.g If your racing, you want to be able to brake as late as possible into corners. So you need uprated braking systems to reduce your braking distance and cope wityh the resulting strain.
So what you need is down to what you want to get out of the car.
My advice is to do it in stages:
BUT REMEMBER THIS GETTING PERFORMANCE TYRES WILL MAKE MORE DIFFERENCE THAN YOUR BRAKES TO YOUR STOPPING POWER.
1. Uprated pads:
Fast Road Use or Fast Road/Track Use.
Use with stock Discs and see how it feels.2. Uprate your Discs If you want more stopping power.
BUT REMEMBER THIS GETTING PERFORMANCE TYRES WILL MAKE MORE DIFFERENCE THAN YOUR BRAKES TO YOUR STOPPING POWER.
If your brakes can lock out your wheels thats as good as you need em to be.
