Hows things?
Your car looks great, your custom front Grille and bonnet are the best looking mods I've seen on an mx3.
I'm putting together an guide on exterior modding guide and would appreciate some help if you have the time.
It would be great if you could put a few articles together for it:
1. Buying a kit from the states - where you got it from, how much you paid, how long it took, anything unexpected that happened, anything else that you think would make it easier for someone else to do it.
2. Fitting a kit
3. Getting a spray job
Any help would be much appreciated.
PM me if your interested.

Couple of small updates!!!
Got my white leather steering wheel, steering wheel boss, white dials are in and also finished my boot build. All that is left to do now is trim it!!!
I'l put some pics up when i work out how to get them off my phoe! lol
-
Recently came round and decided to go for the KL-ZE MX-3 instead of the RX-7 after wrapping my MX round a tree. Completely totalled and lucky to be alive but just bought another and plan to go all out on this one.
Look forwrd to seeing those new pics - that exhaust's fantastic. Still an absolute inspiration.
-
still waiting for the new show season to start before I put all the bits on, bt also bagged myself a set of 18'' wire rims 8)
They look the absolute nuts!!!!!!!
-
Awesome.
I've been wondering mate, you use this as a daily driver aswell don't ya? If so, d'you get away with not having a front plate or d'you have to pop it on top of the dash?
-
That's a point, I've been wondering for a while whether it's acutally a legal requirement to have a front number plant. Some bikes and quads I've seen only have back ones.
-
yeah use it everyday. I got a very very small one on the front, but dont get any trouble unless im at a cruise or something.
Usually just a £30 on the spot fine…
-
they look well better with no front plate. That exhaust sounds well good, i want a jap style one from the cat back, how much did you pay from power flow?
-
they sponsered me so i got it under half price…
The whole system should of been about £550 and i paid £200 for it.
Its suprising just how much work was needed to get the silencer to sit where it does, and then get all 4 pipes to actually work as there was no way i was going to have fake ones! lol
Think theres a couple on ebay, but if you were to just buy say a £40 silencer on ebay, and then go to your local exhaust place and ask them to fit it for you they shouldnt have any problems. Originally i had a 4'' zaust, and i welded it on myself.... cost me 40 quid! lol
-
quick vid of my car.
I only have a small amount of footage of my car on my comp, which is why some parts are replayed…
Also the footage is from about November so theres been a few changes since then!!!
-
hi mate your mx3 is looking sweet a great example of wat a mx3 showcar shud look like. ive been building a show car for last 18 months showing on the fast car stand and exhausts uk this year. ive put sum pics up in project gallery so check it out.
-
cheers fella. Although I sold the car now…
Cant seem to find the pics? Would love to see them as my mate has been doing a lot of shows with his MR2... the blue one with Celica lights...
-
WHAT!! so how much did ou get for the car?? That was the best MX I have seen so far! I am actually getting the same kit as ures and making mine very similar!
-
I sold the car about 6-7 months ago now!
She went to a young lad for his first car… so chances are she'l end up stuffed into some tree... lol
I got the asking price of £3500 so was happy with that :)
And your have to keep us updated. Would be good to see another mx3 take the Uk scene by storm!
-
just seen your not from the Uk, but thats a niiiiice colour!!!!!
-
Yea I am from Toronto Ontario!! My colour is all stock! Very RARE SE canadian model!
Also can you tell me what you used for the front bumper grill rods?
-
cool cool.
And the chrome bars are just chrome rails i got from my local DIY store…
I had them laquered before fitment to provide a bit of extra 'toughness', so they lasted a bit longer :)
Although I still changed them, and had the front bumper sprayed yearly as stone chips etc...
-
found where you got the idear for your bumper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T78tKRt6Ec4
-
James, thats the drift kit…
What mine was originally... until i modified it...
I smothed the top centre gap, smoother the side repeaters and put the chrome bars in...
