@2ae97d8417=blackmexyv6:
Any one remember the old 'motorail' where you could get on a train wi ya car at one end of country and get off at other?? or was it a childhood memory??? lol shame its still not available it'd be ideal for you sir :P mind, they'd soon cotton on to its use and stick a 'big fat !@"* off' premium on the service!
Hope youre rewarded hansomely for your road trip home :D
I bought my first mx3 eunos from Birmingham lol £1400 felt robbed lost so much money on that car and said I'd never go back to a mx3 but for this price and uncommon colour be stupid not to as I did enjoy the car. Means I can take my BMW off the road and use it only for the track. Having a welded diff for an everyday car takes it toll lol
-
I just want my old exhuast back and swap it for the powerflow one I have sat in the shed

I've always wanted a twin exit one dammit.

just interested, Steel grey? Gunmetal? Tokyo tarmac? lol
Is it same as Mooneggs? or is his 'matte gray'
OFF TOPIC???? paint colours :(
-
ME too x, and that reminds me GPX-lee has not fullfilled my request for an undercar photo of exhaust layout???? POKEY POKEY!!!
-
I don't like the exhaust not to my taste so if I get ill swap. Send me a pm with a pic what ur wanting to swap it with
-
Looks like I'm no getting it. Well done on another mx3 Dj
-
Sorry ya missed out fella :( At least its a bit closer now :D and if dj ? gets bored wi it, he might sell it on ???? One al crop up in your neck of woods ill bet??
-
dave it will still be available I am just swapping the exhaust off it as im desperate for it for my car and then bunging 12 months MOT on it thats all im doing to it, just want my exhaust back and maing sure its not scrapped, if you want it I can put another powerflow stainless system on it if you still want a big exhaust otherwise its going to standard with a sportex rear box
-
Happy to hear it's not being scrapped, DJ will do the club a good service.
Thou I wish he would leave the exhaust behind.
-
Thanks Lori, it should be back on the road within a week
-
DJ , how does that exhaust route from OS rear box to NS box?
Do ya have to modify spare wheel well etc? and what about mounts for NS box?
Did YOU have it made originally, or bought from overseas, as it sounds like you have YOUR old exhaust back?
:? kev b
-
Heya kev, it just T's off from behind the rear cross member and follows the outside of the spare wheel sump, then just an extra hanger welded on to the other chassis rail and its up. It was made by powerflow by hand for someone else as I had it second hand myself but it only has a middle box and no rear silencers so its a bit raw, just what my ZE needs lol
-
WOW what a trip just over an hour to get there and then 3 to get home through the backroads of hampshire & wiltshire being towed 8ft behind a van woth my 72 year old dad that has insane road rage lmfao.
the sunroof was stuck open while it pissed down with rain and hail on the way into marlborough and I got soaked. managed to sort the sunroof in the end so it wasnt a full soaking all the way home
Been through it since i got home and the list of stuff isnt looking promising
From what i can see and manly for the MOT is
2 x New rear brake discs & pads
NSR caliper seized
NSF front ball joint
Both Macpherson mounts are shot
Induction tube is split
Radiator is shagged and has a small leak
2 x New headlights due to severe internal corrosion
complete set of wipersThat just leaves the bodywork issues too with damaged paint, scratches on all corners and the chunk out the wheel arch plus the aero bar sunroof with its mini rust bubbles across it
Total is looking at £300 of parts mainly second hand plus MOT test plus labour to get it back on the road for a car thats valued at around £400-450 :(
-
MMMM it looked like a 'classy doll' in the pics and that colour 'da-doiynggg'
I popped a small hole in my headlining adjacent to drive gear on sunroof, and in my glove box i have a 5mm cranked allen key for just such an occasion as a 'not playing today' sunroof!! :D
Dont know ya dad but chucklin about his age related road-rage! :respect:
Eeek!! thats some sudo MOT potential fail sheet there fella! not so much cost but TIMEWISE? Our dear DaveMC could possibly have had a lucky, unlucky escape???
Do ya mean 'strut top isolator mounts' or 'bodywork towers' are shot?
Would it be even loveable if sorted mechanicaly with all those cosmetic issues??
Think you could balance your book, with a 'BREAK'???? Id have clocks off ya if Lori cant find the sets he as squirreld away??? :P kev b :(
-
Hiya kev I have a couple of sets and some rings tucked away to
The strut mounts are the top mounts you can see in the engine bay one is almost split right through so the shock is on the point of popping up into the bonnet the other isn't far behind the cosmetic issues are quite a lot that need both rear quarters both bumpers and sunroof need respray.
It's not looking good for the car
-
I can't find mine Kev, I've stored them well… :(
-
dj, I thought thats what you meant originally, mine had a crack in the rubber on both and was a little concerned pre-test, so I priced new ones up!!!! Do me from behind! £100+ a pair  I bet uprated ones wouldnt be much more? anyways my fears were unfound, either the cracks didnt warrant a fail or the phone rang as the tester got to that bit of test?
Thats such a shame a about Mr Gray! the pics of it did it justice? must have
been excellent/flattering lighting :? Don't judge a book…..... and all that?:respect: to you for taking a punt on it fella x If it had been a lot closer, 'ID' probably be scratching MY head about now!
Lori, no worries champ, if you come across em? please bare me in mind?? kev b :)
-
LEE PLEASE DO NOT READ PAST THIS LINE
KEV - one needs serious attention as its on the point of the shock going up through the bonnet as its very mis-shapen and the crack around it is about 3mm wide
yesterday started this fine and ran perfectly al the way home with no problem except it seemed to have a synchromesh problem as it crunched into every gear when driving it to help my dads an get up hills and pull away etc, been towing with my dad since I was 18 and got this down to an art lol
went out today to turn this around and remove exhaust, engine has major fault, will not start massive amounts of fuel vapour out the exhaust like I have never seen before, lots of backfires and flames from exhaust, seemed to try starting on one cylinder but mainly cranked with no life.
Its like either the timing is well out or valve is stuck open but theres somethin serious so it now decided its own fate :(One bolt on the exhaust is knackered so I need to grind it off during the week as someone refitted the exhaust with old knackered bolts and god knows what the cat is from but its not for an mx3, its about half the size of normal and the angle isnt right on the join so hangs a little low, the plates are half the normal size and god knows how it doesnt blow as theres no gaskets in it either.
Took the air filter off and its splattered with grease underneath then found the NS inner drive shaft gator has pretty much vanished and thrown its grease eveywhereUnfortunately this car is too past it so its back off to japan in a cube shape to make a nissan GTR so thats a suitable ending
Stripped all the important bits today then its being towed wednesday probably to be parted out to save some other sick mazdas a bit like a donor card for usAnybody want any standard parts let me know as i only have limited time to get the parts off you may need
Already gone is parcel shelf, dials and center console to an mx owner I know just down the road as he helped me remove the parts in exchange for those bits but everything will be up for sale including the 16" 5 spokesIll make a list in the for sale section
Sorry Lee she was too far gone :(
-
Bum holes! thats a shame :( Sounds like its had a 'make do and mend' period during its autumnal years as a mode of transport! :x
Wha Wha Whaaaa….. I wanted that instrument surround and dials...!!!
Not playing now, off to sulk...........enjoy em whoever, they're scabby, not nice to look at, untrendy........... :rofl:Hope you balance your book dj for all your effort and dedication into the failed rescue
