Sam's Proper MX-3 - LT Turbo project *Parting out*

  • :D

I certainly owe our Polish welder a few more bottles of Lech for working
    in His lunchhour
Just got to find out exact measurements for pipe sizes/layout and fab a bracket now.

  • As you have gone to all this trouble, would it be worth moving the bottle some where else and rerouting the pipes a little to make the engine bay a little tidier than mazda made it out to be :D

  • Will have to look see if theres anywhere else it could go? was thinking
it would look nice next to an alu washer bottle with the same filler neck,
and maybe getting some symbols stamped in the caps

  • Fully operational again! apart from a few teething leeks its great,
runs no hotter than normal, induction kit sounds great too!
btw its a Ford Focus 01> radiator.

  • alright after some alterations to the system its now completely leak free
and holding pressure nicely, it was the expansion inlet onto the tank that has was causing problems and the wrong size hose clip onto the thermostat.

She now runs even cooler it would seem…

  • Put some petrol in your car!!

  • lol she'll be arlight till wednesday, usually only fill up £25 a time

  • The joys of a 1.6 - fill up £40 a time and that doesnt go far

Jesus i wish,… a full tank on the MSD GSI is £92 to fill up and that lasts a week ish lol..

  • Ok, in preperation for the Gulfy special rocker cover coming back,
Ive been investing in some more pretty colours, lol
namely these anodised bolts, they are M6 x 45 x 1mm pitch and are £4
for six off this seller s_f_b_218iopg on ebay.

and matching washers at £3 for six off the same seller.

also been playing around with the idea of a stainless steel fusebox cover,
    mock up in cardboard.

  • Well, Ive just blown the clutch money, but I think its worth it :D
    Coming monday! 15 x 8 ET15 deep dish alloys.

  • Wow!!! Love the Rims!!!

What ya doin about the Manifold Cover??? Will look a bit outta place with all the rest in Bling!!!

  • Agreed yeah I will have to try and make a stainless steel one of those, when the Turbo comes along

might rip it of soon or replace it with another standard one, as that one has been eaten lower down!!!

  • sexy rims! i want them :)

  • They are well cheap for an 8inch deep dish rim! be interesting to see how much they weigh :)

  • Little bit more engine pimpage today, by way of this spiral hose wrap.
Found this stuff from a scubadiving supply shop.

and this one is UV reactive and comes from a PC modding website.

Made a mistake with the rocker cover bolt size, it should be M6 x 40, not 45, as the original bolts are 45 but a have the last 5mm machined off into a peg, I didnt really want to have to do that to a 45 bolt, so I found the 40's cheap enough from this seller beauty*max , they were £8 for 12.

  • Received my newly painter rocker cover from Paul (mx3gulf)
this morning, more than impressed with his great work on this, and tbh I wasnt expecting anything else :D Thanks!

Wil have to wait a week or so to fit it as I promised myself a little break
    from any work 8)

  • WOW thats is gorgeous!

Good colour choice and nice work gulfy!

  • that looks the nuts :D

  • Looks great. Can't wait to see it on.
Ps I started my "youdirtyfox" style bumper today. Doing well so far. Just struggling to get a good finish on the the body filler in the top vent though.
