K8ze Jspec/Equipt

From what was said on this forum about a Equipt having the K8ZE engine
does anyone know if an OBD 1 equipt ecu fit a Jspec, be interesting to see if there is much a differnce and it would also remove the limiter on my Jspec
not that I cruise at 112mph all day long but I just want to see if there is any change lower down if i can pick 1 up cheap

ECU's are for the engines that they are built for, You could run a different K series ecu with your car but you won't get any power gains I doubt

I also heard that it is only one wire which needs to be cut to "unrestrict" the imports. im sure that DJ will know which one

Yeah there is only 'one' wire, I have cut it on mine and put a switch on dash to turn it on and off, can't remember what wire it is though LOL!!

I have no idea which wire it is either :lol:
as for the ECU, the K8ze will also have different cams.
The big difference I have noticed is that the Equipe is fitted with 3 cats whereas a standard V6 has just the one so there must be a marked difference in the output

Will check what wire it is tomorrow as I am getting car off trailer tomorrow as my mate is borrowing trailer this weekend

send a message to 'mechanic' he did mine, wired up a switch to turn the 112mph limiter on and off, not sure he will remember but he defo did it. Glas he did made me able to get 149 out of it. AMAZIN :oops:

Yeah, it was the impeller in the gearbox, just a massive coincidence that it broke when I cut the wire on ECU!

That is a massive coinsidence lol. at least you cut the right wire. im sure this will help a few import owners on here. I will never understand why the japs restrict their cars to 112mph. very random speed :roll:

I meant is it the same on the k8, and isn't the diagram shown for an ecu from a KLDE (says Ford Probe on the diagram)?
