DILLIGAF?: Project Ratty

  • Well, took some time off from doing work on the house and grabbed my Carbon wrap and the centre caps for the wheels and got creative.

And after this I used a couple of left over strips of rim tape to test the waters on these ideas

  • you still planning on painting them blue?

  • @2e7aa2dcb6=youdirtyfox:

you still planning on painting them blue?

No, decided against that idea, keeping them this colour.

  • im glad your keeping then the same colour there a nice colour and center caps look great.

Cheers Jay. I wouldn't say the caps look great, I need to re do one as I sliced a bit too much off it when I was trimming them, but got plenty o' carbon sheet so easy sorted. need to do my centre console again too as it's gotten a little tatty.

  • My new wheel nuts turned up today so cue Macro Mode!

What they will look like in the wheels

What numb nuts here forgot though, was to order the adapter for them :x

  • Look nice them!

Is it just like a 12mm allen key this adaptor?

  • Yes it is, can't believe they don't supply them when you buy a set of nuts, I got one when I bought some tuner nuts before

  • Should have a 12 mm allen key lying around somewhere to do a trial fit :D

  • :D I can turn down that allen key if you want
so it fits in a battery drill for ultimate labour saving 8)

 Can do that my self at work tomorrow :P

  • The first real fitment of the new wheels is a success :D

Just need to get the tyres sorted and away we go.

  • I've just spent the last couple of hours sorting out bits of the interior and fitting some foot well lights, turned out to be a nightmare for some reason with slipped wires and having to re wire and what not.

I took all the carbon vinyl off and re did it so it's all matching now and all the blemishes have gone. Also managed to get the gear gaiter sitting a little snugger in it's place.

You can see the lights in the passenger footwell at the moment but I'll sort it out soon so only the glow will be visible.

  • wheels look great
also loving all that carbon fibre wrap sorry but ive kind had to copy you with that lol its looking realy good keep it up

Hey I don't mind Jay fella, it's a compliment and also makes something of that blank space under the head unit :D

So here's some night pictures of the footwells, prepare for shakey cam!

  • Another day and I decided to take on the removal of the front drivers wing. Needless to say, I won.

But I won't say it was easy, it involved quite a lot of violence and swearing and yet more violence, here's the old wing to give you a clue.

And here it is, possibly the straightest bit of bodywork on my car, everrrrr!

it also helped sit the bumper a little nicer too

and whilst the bumper was off and the wires to the spots were exposed I wired up some under glow lights (here's a snippet, will have to wait for more darkness to see them better)

  • Underglow at night

  • getting there dude

  • multi colour car FTW!

  • @99dca4afe7=mx3gulf:

    multi colour car FTW!

Beautiful ain't it  I should get a passenger wing in blue and bumpers in some other MX3 colours

I could become a swatch for the MX3, "available in all these colours"

Or possibly until I get a respray I could do the rising sun on the wing
