Sam's Proper MX-3 - LT Turbo project *Parting out*
-
I did the same thing ages ago… ;-) looks sweet doesn't it. ;-)
-
good job! They turned out very well. Now hows that turbo getting on?
-
Well tbh Marco it wont be happening till around next August time
now when my insurance goes down ( went over limited mileage +
2 x SP30's!) still need to buy the clucth and the AEM F/IC aswell. So in the meantime im concentrating on apperance, just
bought these with part of my xmas bonus :D cheers Boss!
should give me that 8J look 8)
@DJ > flyeye should tint down the bright white reverse light?!
-
Damn nice mate! I whould like my wheels to be around 8j too, but I already hit the fenders with the tires in tight corners.. Damn floppy suspention and k-sport coilovers..
-
I should be OK , There not hubcentrics though hence why
they were 95 quid for four, but im going
to have to buy spigot rings or machine
up a locating ring to centralize them
onto the hub, plus grind off some of the
original stud if it fowls on the inner face
of the wheel.
-
Getting some stance eh! Look forward to seeing these on. Good to hear it's still in the works and sounds like you're being realistic about the planning too. It'd be great to actually have some more performance orientated mx3s on this site.
-
Yep I really like my wheels (7j) so didnt want to give
them up for some 8j rims, but want to get the top
of the tyre right out by the arch or maybe a bit beyond
and some camber to tuck them back in! :D
-
Just trying my new cameraphone :D
and a small hint of what Im leaning towards
doing with a spare bumper I have coming very soon!
-
looking good mate
-
cheers mate :)
would soooo much better in White though 8)
-
Bumper should look awesome! Just spotted this one in Japan:

Looks pretty similar. Shipping would be expensive though I'd say.
-
Looks like it would have enough space for a large FMIC 8)

:) Yep just making previsions for turbo time
although it wont be a full length FMIC as I
dont want to cover up the whole length of the radiator!
but atleast I'll be able to get full cooling to a taller FMIC.

Should look sweet, did you see Valley's bumper http://www.uk-mx3.com//forum/viewtopic.php?t=9&start=30? It really changes the front end look, was part tempted myself! I just smoothed in the lip instead and got rid of the middle lumpy bit.

No I hadnt see that, thanks. probably smooth out that
lumpy bit too while Im at it.Well in true dirtyfox styley theres now a bumper
being stored and worked on in the kitchen
-
Ok so the battle lines have been drawn,
but I got to get one of them oscillating
cutters or a bigger dremel with cutting
power before I attempt to remove some
bumper.
-
Just a thought but, if you are cutting out that much of the bumper, I think you may possibly expose the carrier that sits beneath it, part metal/polystyrene, have you made plans to cut that back too??
-
we talking about that big black bar that goes all the way across?
I assume we are :D Yes im going to remove that from the
back of the bumper before I cut the it.
The new grille mesh going in there should cover it back up again
I hope and leave it intact.

Productive day today!
decided to go for it with the hard disc cutter,
Little test patch!
Cutting well inside the line,
then tidy up after
