Er…. Good question, old I think don't know if it's the bat though cause all the lights work, thinking about it it has been taking longer to turn over than usual just lately
Happened to me just after I bought my MX, was hard to start in the morning, then wouldnt start one morning at all
so i charged the battery, was ok for a few days , then it did it again
so i bought a new battery wich solved it.

so are you saying the boot lights always on then :shock? just checked it and it was on, dropped the back seats with the boot closed and it was off popped the boot and light came on?? :?
-
Boot light turns off when the boot is shut on mine as well.
New battery time tbh.

Just picked up a charger, locAl bat place is closed today(how thoughtless!) so gonna charge it up and see if it is the bat;)
-
if you replace the battery and it does it again it will be the starter, I have had 2 now that the starter will turn it over but rapes the battery dead, then sometimes it will run fine then try to start again and the battery is dead. it seems the starter just shorts across inside and kills the battery in an instant.
You can tell when they are going like that they sound a bit like a chuffing steam train when you are turning it over and over time it gets worse, a good starter wont make that wheezy chuffing noise
-
Then me thinks I own a steam train

Quick update, after ashort spell on a charger from flat it recharges in 2 hours and starts up with a bit of chugging, will check again in the mornin…. :D thanks for all the advice chaps

Cool, once bats have gone flat though they never seem the same :(

Starter shaft guide wear out. Mine went into a egg shape it turned then struggled and kept having a massive surge of power. Was blowing my inline fuse as battery is in boot so would easily kill a battery. Had guide replaced and been fine since. About 4 years old now . Alot cheaper than a new or refirb. Starter.
