@0eba352828=DaveMc:
Like what u done with the power steering and over flow tank they propper s/s holders or just a cover?
That induction sheild is a great mod I am sure a few would be interested in a how to
I am more interested in the diamensions of the inductio pipe u used :D !
Nice looking car bud
They are covers on the tanks, also have one on the brake fluid tank….. i found these in a breakers yard.
The induction kit is of ebay (item code 170464790138) and is for mx6 as I couldn't find one for a 3, i then took a hax saw to it and cut loads off using a "cut a bit off.... does it fit.... cut a bit more" method, not too sure on the dims of the pipe, i'll get up the garage this week and get the verns on it for you.
The engine partition is made from galvinised sheet steel which my mate got me as he works as a industrial duct cleaner but im looking for a nice shinny piece of alloy to make one out of.

@80616fab40=Dentfixer:
Very, very nice. I like the silver ones a lot. Any plans on lowering?
Yes i have been thinking of lowing since i put the 17's on as it raised the car, but i was only thinking for going down 25 mm.
has anyone done a 25mm lowwer? is it worth it?
-
It's always worth it. You'll struggle to find -25mm springs for an MX-3 but, as chance would have it, the potential group buy involves making high-quality bespoke ones at the same price as low quality brands, any drop or spring rate you want…

It's a "whenever" thing at the moment. I need to take my spare springs to them first, but they're aware of my interest (and interests).

Well next things to do is lighten up the dash, as with all 80's/90's jap sports cars, the interior is based on a coal mine in wales.
I like what nightstalker has done to his but im going to go with chrome (sorry for nicking your idea chap) and well the dash is in bits i've got to change the led's in the dials as they haven't worked since i got the car.
Then it's a good sevice! has anyone on here used magnatec in there v6? will it draw past the rings?

Just spent two hours under my car :( ….. cv boot clip had failed and sprayed cv grease over every thing in the wheel well... brakes, lower arm, alloy and the arch. Damn that stuff is had to clean off.
Tempory bodge done :D, wedding to atend tomorrow so it will have to wait till sunday.
-
Well where do i start…... The wedding went very well but i found the biggist pot hole in warwickshire..... It destroyed the front n/side tire and alloy and took a big bite out of the rear. After lots of swearing and changing round of wheels in the dark, i drove my 3 home with 3 17" wheels a 1 15" space saver at 50mph on the motorway (scary s#*t) only to find all the items had arrived from ebay to mod my 3 for japfest.... lots more swearing!!!!
I have now been offered a set or 18" wolfrace alloys that just need 2 new tires and i still have the oe rims but they need 2 new tires a good clean and maybe spraying or beat the crap out of the the dameged 17", but i've been told it may crack.... i just dont know what to do.....
-
tyres for 18s are dear :/ Maybe OE rims for a while would be best/cheapest. Unlucky mate. Know how it is losing alloys unfairly :(
-
What does a 3 drive like with 18's on?
-
get a good set of 17's and then on ebay I got a brand new set of tyres 205 40 17 for £125 inc delivery
Look in the wheels section there is a list of cars with the same stud pattern as the MX3 so search for alloys under different cars, first set I got were for a renault clio and the set I have now were advertised for volkswagen.
Next if they are aftermarket wheels you will need spigots, to save more money search the wheel manufacturer for the spigot diameter and then search ebay with that spigot size eg 74.1
then look for a set with the internal measurements of 54.1 which is the spigot size for MX3's
Searching this way the spigots will cost about £3.00 if you search eg team dynamics the sets allcost £14.99 and above:D

What does everyone think, i cant decide?
-
not my cup of tea to be honest, i don't think they would match the style of the car at all.

**Four problems there (discounting the fact that they're 17").
1. They're Wolfrace.
2. They're as ugly as Wayne Rooney's afterbirth.
3. They're as heavy as Michelle McManus's morning dump the day after a parmo (one for nightstalker there).
4. They make your brakes look absolutely bloody tiny. I've never tried stopping a car with Fray Bentos tins before…**

I had 18's on mine and hated them, you could feel every tiny little bump as the tyres are just too low a profile.
£80 should get your alloysbent back or £100 if they split and need welding.
But they would need painting afterwards as its obvious whenan alloy has been repaired.
How bad were they??

Car looks tidy! Nice buy
