wilko you do have a klze right?
I had mine installed at a shop, I got a new cat and then 2.5" piping after that out to a huge muffler… they just cut and then welded to the new cat the headers...
Welly,
yeah, suspect that is the case with the sudden failure but still not enough of a knowledge to work out which one.
Will have another look at the manual methinks
well i had mine just over a year now. heres what i changed. and had done.
2 cv joints.
new clutch (uprated)
head gasket.
back box
middle section
bottom ball joint.
trailing arm
rear sus cap.
alround pads.
callipars un siezed. (found that out by nearly running up arse end of cop. and me blasting horn for him to go which he did lol)
buy some tipex and get trying timing settings, ull find with it abit advanced it will run about quicker..
advance is then nock it down 15 degree's thats about standard .
For £3000 your looking at:
Vauxhall Calibra Turbo £1500 - £2500 then MOD with extra cash
Honda Prelude 2.2Vti £2000 - £3000 buy cheap and mod
Toyota MR2 Rev3 Twin Turbo - £2800 - £3500 Rev3 is V fast
Mazda MX3 £250 - £1800+ the best looking by far  but not fast unless you do a KLZE
Check the engine numbers to see if the 1.5 is the same block as the 1.6, it might even be on the wikipedia.
If it is the same just use an engine mount from a 1.6 You should then be able to get one from the 247spares website or of ebay.
You can't beat jap cars for style and bang for bucks!
The MX-3 is 16 years old and still looks awsome, and look at the MR2, EVO, GTO, FTO, SUPRA etc
Just a note: The MR2 Turbo kicks ass over the MX-3, and the REV3 MR2 that has the same engine as the Celica GT4 really kicks ass over the MX-3.
Saying that I'd rather drive an MX-3 in the wet. :P
Have you checked your current exhaust? as you said its dying? when mine died it was actually the centre section that had rusted where it bolted to the back box, eventually the neighbours complained, about the engine starting at 6AM for work, and the back box fell off…somewhere, so i had to buy a new centre section and backbox
