i have a starter button on my car
You will still need the key to get the imobilizer off, but i dont know the wires .
It add's a little security to the car, because if the "son of a bit***" that's stealing the car doesnt have any idea of what that does … even do he breaks the ignition on the car, the car wont start...
Ill try to explain this :
If you dont put the key, the button wont do anything
If you put the key, and turn it until the car starts , it wont do anything also
If you put the key, turn it until the imobilizer is off, and then push the button, the car start's ... hope you get it ;)
Doh! yeah thanks. I realise this now after I looked again this afternoon. I guess I was just being tired and thick i must have missed it  I've found which one is blown and sods law I've run out of 15A fuses so I'm off for a trip to Halfords to pick up some new ones. Thanks for the help. :)
well I thought halfords were just taking the piss but I still can't get the bloody thing out. Called a car audio fitting place in town and arranged to bring it in tomorrow. They reckon it's probably bolted in too.
Bit odd but we'll see tomorrow. I shall report back.
Thanks for the fast response.
I really appreciated the help and have now fitted a pair of Philips H4
X-treme Power.
Thanks MuttsNuts, 4Terras and Valley
Enjoy the New Year . . .

Hi
Thanks for all the help . . . really appreciated . . . good to know that I'm not alone.
I have managed to source a pair of complete units through a breaker on Ebay. So I hope the guy delivers and the problem should be solved.
If its any help as a confidence boost to any readers, my 1995 Mazda mx3 only failed on the colour of the lens covers . . . the rest of the car was completely faultless. I think this says a great deal about Mazda reliability.

I think I read he used chopped up plastic files! So purple plus green = blueish. Nice bit of improv
yes that is correct I got some transparent office files and cut it to fit - purple gave it the look I wanted the rest of the colors really did not do much for it!… here are some links that helped me from the North American mx-3 site FAQ...

definately pay attention when doing anything around the needles cause if you screw them up you will be out of luck!!!
I bought these for my bulbs - some little 194 type bulb covers that were red -I used to have LED's but they burnt out since they in a dimming application…
you will also notice in my worklog I changed the blinkers to blue - this was done using 20oz bottle caps from dasani water LOL I just cut them with a dremel to fit in the space using the old green arrows as a template!

mine also had a factory fitted alarm which i cant seem to get working. i cant be bothered to change mine over but i would like the factory alarm to work. i think the make of it is called fastline and it says on my key fob genuine mazda alarm.
snap i had a play the other day just going to get a new one fitted from motorstyle by me lol!
i have a red light above the steering hub an imobiliser under the barrel and an alarm uin teh bay and non of it seems wired or connected lol! think they jus did away with it when the new engine was fitted last year not that my sister would have noticed haha!
i had to split one of mine a few months back as had a crack in one. however as theis crack was right down it was easy to do. and the one that glass was taken out of was no go either. following that heat gun is good. and hair…. onces apart to reheat the old sealent is simple hot knife or same... jus open from the widest part to the point. there are loads of how to guides on the net.
i will try to find that paper that came with it … it shows a universal connection, but i hope it helps.
I really really want to connect it , since i am going to get my TB bored and place a good CAI.
A good CAI, bored TB, K1 10mm sparkwire's, Denso Iridium sparks, and that resistor trick on the MAF-ECU connection should raise my bhp at least by one :D

Also ROC in probestore is breaking mx-3's.r
I don't break cars, only new parts. I want the cars to stay on the road, not break them up   :D
I had to cut the glow dials slightly to get it over the needles as they have such a large tail. If i had realised what a pain they were to do i would of probably not of bothered.
